Aquarius in 3rd House: Original Thoughts and Words

Communication

Their communication style tends to be forward-thinking and objective, focusing on logic, although that isn’t to say that they’re communication is cold. They hold a deep concern for the well-being of those in their immediate environment, such as family, neighbors, and their broader community and they like to positively contribute to their lives.

Their written communication is often lighthearted, humorous and frequently laced with lots of funny emoticons or it could be professional, factual, and to the point. Like most people, their tone and style changes depending on who they’re corresponding with.

On the other hand, they might have their own, totally unique way of communicating. Sometimes it’s very different from the norm, especially if there Aquarius or Gemini is prominent on the birth chart! They could be especially bubbly and enjoy cracking jokes or sending funny memes and videos to people they know well.

In group settings, they often gravitate toward discussions. They relish the opportunity to share their thoughts with a diverse array of people and engage in collaborative endeavors with those who share their interests.

During informal conversation, such as those at a party, they can suddenly jump from one subject to the next. This tendency often stems from their agile minds and penchant for exploring lots of different topics, making conversations with them an exciting and engaging experience if also a little confusing!

I have a friend with this placement who is mildly eccentric but in the best way possible. She’s talented at bridging the gap between two totally different subjects with total ease. Just the other day, as we were planning a lovely picnic on picturesque grounds, she suddenly started talking about the remarkable strength of ants and how they’d make good use of our leftover crumbs once we left…

Sometimes it can be challenging to predict what they’ll say or how they’ll react to new information. These people seem to have a strong proclivity for delivering humor through witty and unexpected remarks which, I think, adds a delightful element of amusement to their conversations.

Thought Processes

These individuals often have a strong inclination toward intellectual exploration and innovative thinking. They aren’t afraid to go against the grain and practice free-thinking. They’re typically open-minded, progressive, and drawn to unconventional ideas and technologies.

They’re keenly interested in social justice, equality for all, humanitarian causes, and global issues. Some may see them as a bit idealistic but oftentimes, the points they make are impressive and eye-opening. They often push the boundaries of conventional thinking and explore topics that others might find unusual.

While Aquarius is known for its open-mindedness, it’s also a fixed sign and therefore, it can occasionally become fixated on certain ideas and struggle to let them go. This can be both a strength and a challenge. On the positive side, it allows them to advocate passionately for their beliefs and drive change in areas they’re interested in.

On the downside, however, their attachment to some ideas may make them resistant to different perspectives or make them slow to adapt to new information. In such cases, they might find it challenging to accept that their ideas may need to be revised in the face of evolving circumstances. Being a lunar Aquarian, I can easily relate to this!

As they’re innovative thinkers, they often think of new inventions or at least ways to improve current things. Leonardo Da Vinci, frequently hailed as one of the greatest inventors of all time, had this placement. Many of these people tend to pursue careers in scientific and technological fields, or they may opt for entrepreneurial ventures that provide them with opportunities to explore and develop innovative concepts and ideas.

Additionally, they tend to be drawn to the weird and wonderful so they could be keen on subjects like numerology, reiki, palmistry, hypnosis, tarot, herbalism and astrology. In fact, according to astrotheme.com, Nicholas Campion, one of the world’s most well known astrologers (I’ve read nearly everything he’s published) has Aquarius on the third house cusp.

Siblings

Sibling relationships may be characterized by a sense of independence and individuality, with unique and sometimes unconventional dynamics. For example, a sibling might choose a career path that’s totally different to those of the rest of the family. If they were expected to become a high ranking professional but decided instead to become a pet groomer, this could spark discussions within the family as they navigate this differing choice.

Whatever their sibling is like, they’re intelligent and perfectly capable of navigating the world and making a good life for themselves. They’re probably top conversationalists and love engaging in thought-provoking discussions and collaborative problem-solving. They may inspire each other to think both creatively and critically.

On the other hand, their siblings could lead unconventional lifestyles or frequently disagree with the family. The proverbial ‘black sheep’ of the family springs to mind here.

There might be a geographical separation between them without any animosity at all. They could simply lead separate lives due to physical distance, growing apart naturally as adults, or having vastly different lifestyles, values and ideologies.

Neighbors

Their neighbors may have rather strange ideas about things and demonstrate odd and/or unpredictable behavior. Tension may frequently arise between them. A cousin of mine has this placement. His neighbour, despite being in his 30s and healthy, is positively hermetic. He only seems to emerge to shout at him for various unwarranted reasons such as drying his swimming shorts on his balcony. This is in the suburbs of Athens, Greece, which makes it all the more more bizarre because communities are very tightly knit there.

On the other hand, they could be super friendly and helpful and maintain good relations with their neighbours by playing the role of the mediator. They may be the first to attend to any neighbors in need. Being naturally interested in people, they could enjoy organizing neighbourhood activities and have a home that is frequently busy with all sorts of interesting people.

They might also follow an unconventional lifestyle of some kind. Perhaps they’re artists, minimalists, goths, hipsters, New Agers, or polyamorous. Or maybe their lifestyle is particularly nomadic and free-wheeling —for example, they could be travelling digital nomads living the elusive laptop lifestyle dream. Whatever their neighbors are like, they are just different from the norm in some form or fashion.

Short Journeys and Transportation

Short trips for social or networking purposes are common for these individuals. They travel to meet friends, acquaintances, or professional contacts, fostering connections and collaborative opportunities. These trips often involve stimulating conversations and idea-sharing.

They’re especially fond of brief spontaneous adventures just for a change in scenery and to learn something new.

Their personal vehicle, if they have one, is probably a bit quirky. Maybe it’s always a mess inside, reflecting the myriad of thoughts they constantly have, or it could just be an unorthodox color or shape. Whatever it is, it’s very unlikely to be flashy. And if it is expensive, it’ll be because of their love of futurism or because it reflects an original part of them, like an affinity for lime green, for example.

Immediate Environment

These people need to live somewhere that stimulates them mentally. Their home and work place must allow them to think freely and they also need to have just the right amount of action; too little and that will bore them, too much and that might throw them off kilter.

Having somewhere they can tinker with things like a workshop, craft room, ‘man-cave’ or ‘she den’ should help them to explore their interests and create interesting things. It would also give them some physical space away from others so that they can sit, think and ponder, which they love doing.

Like most people, no matter what their chart looks like, they enjoy entertaining others. And their parties include guests from all walks of life because they like to mix with different types of people with different backgrounds and viewpoints to keep things interesting.

Early Education

Their early years were very likely mentally engaging. They could have been seen by their teachers as exceptionally intelligent because they’d pick information up very quickly and the quality of their work was usually very good. Staff at the school, from headteacher to janitor, may have found them friendly and kind. Some of these people would have been the teacher’s pet.

Some may have rebelled against their curriculum, teachers, and the school rules but it’s essentially this sign’s job to rattle to status quo to make things better. They may have not known that as kids but perhaps some changes were made somewhere as a result of them making a point of things that just didn’t make sense or were ineffective.

Technology

Aquarius is strongly associated with modern tech so these people are likely to be interested in today’s (and tomorrow’s) technology. They probably have a digital subscription to Wired magazine and other tech magazines or closely follow the release of new tech. Future technology fascinates them the most though and they feel compelled to try out a lot of the latest gadgets, which may make them feel as if they’re already living in the future.

I have a friend with this placement and she was the first person I know to buy the Apple Vision Pro headset despite its whopping price tag. Although, as a software engineer with a six figure salary, she can effortlessly afford to spend thousands on software, gadgets and gizmos every year…

Tech that’s also different or esoteric in some way also interests them. For example, astro and tarot apps are popular with them. My friend who has this placement is fascinated by space and the concept of ‘star seeds’ (having incarnations on other planets). She’d got a high powered telescope at home and several extraordinary apps on her smartphone that allow her to view our galaxy and track the movement of the stars around us.

Science is also popular with these individuals. Even if their career is in a very different field, they might follow the latest scientific breakthroughs, especially those in the fields of Biology and Physics. Advancements in medicine delight and intrigue them as they seeing humanity progressing.

Manual Skills

These people enjoy taking things apart just to see how they work. Sure, they’ll put them back together again most of the time, but they could find ways to improve them. They just love to find out how things —and people, tick. They tend to be very hands-on with whatever they do and make excellent DIYers, engineers, mechanics, and builders.

Up-cycling or repairing things could be favorite pastimes of theirs. Finding new uses for old or discarded stuff, shows their ability to think outside the box and transform objects. For example, an tired old wooden table might spark their creative ingenuity, leading to the transformation of it into a stunning set of chairs!

They also love trying out new techniques and methods, which can lead to creative problem-solving in hands-on endeavors in scientific settings. Conducting scientific experiments, lab work and hands on scientific research would also appeal to them.
