Aries in 3rd House: The Voice of Fire

Communication

In whatever manner they are communicating — whether written, spoken, or otherwise — these natives are assertive, direct and succinct. Similar to the role of Mercury (or Greek God Hermes), who acted as a messenger delivering letters and prayers from the mortals to the immortal God, Zeus, these people quickly and efficiently convey their thoughts and feelings.

Time is of the essence with these people and they hate to waste it by talking too much, or God forbid, long-winded sweet talk. They just want to get their point across so they can get on. Sometimes this can mean making tactless comments like “that red dress looks bad on her” or “his face is round like the Moon” but this is really just them speaking their minds, filter free! They do tend to call things as they see them.

The more pressured for time or irritated they are, the shorter and more forceful their communication is. If they come across as curt, and someone points it out, they’ll probably respond along the lines of “well, time waits for no one!” or “okay, good luck!”.

Having fast and efficient communication is definitely advantageous. Unless there’s a significant amount of Taurus, Virgo, or Scorpio in their chart, these people don’t often allow disagreements or confusing exchanges to live in their heads rent free. They won’t mentally replay and unpick interactions with others and in the instance that something does bother them, it’s usually not for very long. I’d like to add that as someone who can exhaust herself by spending hours mentally examining her recent conversations, I find this way of thinking wonderfully refreshing, healthy, and productive!

Aries is self-oriented so these people enjoy talking about themselves quite or centring conversations around themselves quite a bit. They might not allow their friends a word in edgeways when chatting. That being said, they also more than make up for it because when they do start talking about someone or something that really interests them, they just can’t stop! And conversations with them are nearly always interesting, boisterous, and peppered with lots of funny points, laughter, and good cheer. They’re able to relay some of the most vivid and hilarious stories with creativity, confidence, and ease.

Thought Processes

These people tend to learn quickly, especially during practical demonstrations, for instance, how to clean a diesel engine, or how to take down a tree. Whatever they choose to learn, it should capture their attention almost completely because if there’s a substantial amount of boredom present in the beginning, it’ll grow and they’ll cut loose sooner rather than later. Remember, time waits for no man, as they see it!

A quick solution to any given problem, no matter how delicate or intricate, is nearly always preferred. The saying ‘speed is of the essence’ rules here and moving quickly and confidently along a direct path to a goal or solution is sought.

Considering how quickly these people like to get things done, pettiness and vindictiveness are pretty much alien to them — especially in terms of small issues. At most, they might fire off a quick comeback and then return to whatever they were doing without any further thought on the matter. After all, as they see it, who has time for boring, negative interactions that ultimately achieve nothing?

If they have an opinion on something, which they often do, you’ll know about it and it won’t be sugar-coated. And it’s thanks to this honest, frank communication, others always know where they stand with them.

Siblings

If it’s possible to survive an Aries type sibling in your childhood, it’s possible to survive virtually anything. For those who have siblings with Aries in the 3rd, the ride is usually a wild one! Bearing in mind that Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of war and the underworld, it won’t come as a surprise that sibling rivalry or arguments may be present in childhood.

Fights, even physical ones, and rather loud and animated arguments may have occurred during youth but for some, also well into adulthood. For those with positive relationships, there may be infrequent agreements with quick endings to disagreements and plenty of laughter and heartfelt reconciliation afterward. Some arguments are necessary because they cleanse the surrounding proverbial — and literal — air of any lingering animosity, and further strengthen the bond between siblings.

Their siblings can also be tremendous fun, lively, upbeat, playful people and very have a straightforward, no-nonsense manner. So animated and energetic were they that growing up with them felt like being in a blender on the highest speed setting.

Neighbors

With new neighbors, they may feel compelled to make the first move and introduce themselves. They might be tempted to knock on their door with a large welcome and invite them back to their home for a coffee.

The relationships they have with their immediate neighbors may occasionally be rather volatile. Since they’re very direct in the way they communicate their thoughts, they can rub people up the wrong way sometimes. They or their neighbors might also do things that are inconsiderate at times and that can lead to confrontation.

Something that I’ve also personally noticed about them is that they can also be a bit nosey! While they aren’t rude on purpose, being too nosey can cause a bit of unease. But most of the time, they’re just genuinely curious and want to know what’s going on. Being left out of the loop doesn’t feel right.

At neighborhood gatherings, they can be, if in the mood, effusive, talkative, and tons of fun. They might want to take the lead by organizing gatherings and events or at least be involved at an important level. Community projects really interest them and again, they would prefer to be involved, if not take charge and lead.

Short Journeys and Transportation

Short journeys are adored by these people so they happen go on them and they’re typically of the mini-adventure, adrenaline-filled variety. Each little trip or local outing has the potential to become an interesting, action-filled quest with enough imagination and planning.

The way they see it, there are plenty of new and interesting places that are just waiting to be conquered in their own state or country. For example, someone living in Wales with this placement might surmise: “why travel abroad when Scotland is a few hours away and full of beautiful green terrain, and interesting castles?”. And they would be right, at least in my opinion! Although all countries have plenty to offer, there’s a vast array of amazing stuff to see in your very own country!

Traveling with these people can be an delightful. Their fearless zest for seeing new places often leads them to take charge of the driving, and even the shortest trips can feel like grand adventures with their enthusiastic spirit at the wheel.

Their car is probably as new as possible and it can go fast and and provide a thrilling, fun ride. It needs to work well, though, without any boring issues that might slow them down, like a bad radiator.

When driving, they might find themselves becoming irritated and wanting to reach their destination as quickly as possible. I have Leo in the 3rd and because Leo is also a spicy fire sign, I can easily relate to this!

Things like traffic jams and slow drivers can really rile them up so they might want to get into the habit of taking a few deep breaths when something annoying crops up. Or even before getting into the car. But being a little fiery behind the wheel has its merits — they never dilly-dally and they rarely arrive late!

Immediate Environment

A stimulating environment is a must. Their home needs to be a hub of activity most of the time otherwise they will get bored. Of course, they might not want a lot going on all of the time, especially if there’s a lot of sensitive, introverted water in their chart, but they throughly enjoy their home often being a fun and vibrant place. In practical terms, this could mean having a couple of kids running around, frequent parties and gatherings, frequent visits from neighbours, friends and family, or a business being run from home with staff milling around.

Early Education

Their early education could have been a very dynamic and emotional experience with lots of physical activity being involved. They were quick to learn and could tackle almost all of their subjects with a great deal of enthusiasm and vigour. They were competitive and always studied hard to get good grades and out-do their classmates.

When playing sports at school, they played to win. Of course they also enjoyed the spirit of the game but there was always a strong need to take first place. They could have been quite intense and/or strategic in the way they played. They probably won repeatedly, much to the admiration, annoyance, or jealousy of their fellow pupils! I’ve found this to be true especially of games that are quite aggressive in nature already like hockey, where the Mars signs (Aries and Scorpio) excel naturally.

Technology

In the ever-evolving landscape of tech, these individuals blaze trails like cybernetic centaurs. Marrying the relentless energy of Aries with the house of communication, they approach modern tech with a pioneering spirit. They’re usually the first to try out new gadgets, apps, and platforms with the zeal of a child with a fun new toy!

While others may hesitate to try brand new tech and software, these people just charge ahead, navigating everything with confidence. Whether they’re decrypting the latest social media trend, championing a new mode of digital communication, or simply firing off messages, there’s an electrifying momentum to their dance with the digital world.

Manual Skills

Aries is a very capable, self-assured sign and it can excel in almost any subject. When it comes to how these people use their hands, however, they masterfully combine impulsive energy with targeted precision. Whether sculpting clay, sketching lines on paper, or playing a musical instrument, their hands move with dynamic force. And it’s not just about the end product — the process itself is invigorating and challenging and they absolutely revel in the act of creation. Their hands become an extension of their burning inner drive.

Arian pursuits include woodworking, metalworking, mechanics, and technology. And while all of these require some degree of patience to work in, the result of their labor is usually seen fairly quickly because they act fast. One of my close friends in school had this placement and she did amazingly well in Product Design. While she frequently lost her temper while making her prototypes, she’d usually come out on top with some really unique and ingenious items. As an example, we were instructed to create a point of sale display as a part of our GCSE exam and she made the most elaborate, yet functional, point of sale display that was well beyond her age. We were all blown away by her aptitude and creativity.

As bright, skilled and quick as these people are, when creating with their hands, their fervent approach can sometimes lead to mistakes being made or small details being overlooked. Personally, I think that it’s essential for them to occasionally pause, take a few deep breaths, and channel that intense Arien energy into focused precision rather than untamed impulse!
