Leo in 3rd House: Roaring Conversations and Bold Connections
Communication
These people relish commanding attention. They simply must be heard and understood. They love having a captive audience, or at least enjoy being listened to and having their points respected and valued. They are often articulate and and put forward their thoughts in a graceful yet authoritarian manner.
Their communication is normally direct and self-assured. Even if they have Gemini Rising (like me!) which can be a little timid, they still project their voice well and make solid and concise points without much hesitation. Although they might like to talk more than listen, they also like to hear the thoughts and perspectives of others to expand their own perspective.
They’re usually meticulous in their writing, ensuring every word is perfectly chosen and grammar is correct. This diligence is especially apparent in professional communication like work emails and formal letters. They would absolutely loathe being thought of as unintelligent and they possess a very strong aversion to criticism, especially if they have a Virgo Moon or Mercury sign.
Their voice may be warm, graceful, soothing, and overall mellifluous. Perhaps it’s somewhat cinematic. Others might comment that it would be good for the stage, radio, or storytelling. Their children, if they have any, might love them reading bedtime stories to them because of how lovely they sound.
It’s vital that they’re taken seriously, listened to, and respected but they also feel the need to dominate conversations which can make them seem dramatic, overbearing, or perhaps even a tad arrogant. This is especially true when their feelings about something are very strong or when they’re upset. Additionally, since Leo is a fixed sign, they may struggle to grasp the viewpoints of others at times.
Whether consciously or not, they might enjoy talking quite a lot about their personal achievements and the nice things they own. They take immense pride in their accomplishments, and discussing their various different successes is a way for them to reaffirm their worth and significance in both their own eyes and those of others.
They can talk a bit too much, especially about themselves, and are prone to oversharing, sometimes making others a bit uncomfortable. They might even unconsciously ‘trauma dump’. I’ve got this placement and I used to do that when I was in my teens before my self awareness had a chance to fully develop. I thought it was totally fine and normal at the time.
Thought Processes
They tend to be creative thinkers and imagine up all sorts of weird and wonderful things. I know a few people with this placement who are professionally trained artists, and that includes myself. Like the theatrical Leo, their thought processes can sometimes be very dramatic. They’re naturally talented storytellers and embellish their ideas with enthusiasm, making their communication lively and engaging.
Their convictions are strong so their opinions aren’t easily swayed by others. While they allow people to put across their points, they also understand that they don’t have to agree with them. And they definitely don’t mind a bit of verbal sparring.
Leo’s desire for recognition influences their thinking patterns. They may seek acknowledgment and praise for their ideas and work, which can drive them to strive for excellence in their intellectual pursuits. While this is admirable, some of them take it a bit too far by thinking of themselves as being ‘the best’. It’s also pretty unrealistic as we all excel in different areas of life.
Having a naturally optimistic outlook on life means that they believe things will just somehow work out in their favor. They tend to focus on possibilities and opportunities rather than dwelling on obstacles and challenges. Their positive mindset also has a contagious effect, often inspiring those around them to adopt a more dynamic and joyous perspective.
That said, since their thoughts are characterized by heightened emotions and intensity this can occasionally lead them to approach situations dramatically, as they may envision worst-case scenarios rather than positive outcomes. I’m certainly guilty of this every now and again!
Siblings
Their siblings could be very affectionate, caring, and valuable to them and vice-versa. Their bond may be very loving and strong and a generosity may exist between them. They may be ready and willing to lend a helping hand, offer financial support, or give thoughtful gifts to show their affection and care.
Just as they take pride in their own accomplishments, they also take great pride in the achievements of their siblings and other family members. They may be vocal supporters and attend all of their siblings’ important events, celebrating their successes alongside them with plenty of enthusiasm, praise and laughter.
When they were children, they had a huge amount of fun together. Whether they were playing around the family home, having regular parties, or watching movies together, they just normally had an excellent time with oodles of fun.
Loud, dramatic arguments could have also occurred fairly regularly but these finished almost as quickly as they began if everyone ultimately loved and supported each other.
However, all human stories are different, of course. For those who experienced a difficult upbringing, there was a constant struggle to become “the best” child or the most loved and adored. Maybe one or both of them wanted to be the favorite and that created a competitive atmosphere in the home where they were constantly competing for top position. There may have been feelings of inadequacy if one sibling perceived another as getting more attention or approval from parents.
Neighbors
These people can make very good neighbors. They tend to be outgoing and sociable which makes it easy for them to strike up conversations and build connections with their neighbors. More often than not, they are the ones to initiate social gatherings or neighborhood events, some of which might be really fun or elaborate. They’re probably some of the most approachable people in their area.
Their neighbours may be kind-hearted, supportive, and caring. They might be quite wealthy, generous and/or perhaps a bit loud, eccentric, or flamboyant. On the other hand, they could be domineering and selfish. There could also be an ongoing power struggle between them. As I mentioned earlier, I have Leo on the cusp of the 3rd and I’ve had some dreadful neighbours. Their selfish, anti-social antics resulted in three (yes, three!) lovely families moving away.
Most of my neighbors are highly creative, interesting, kind and friendly people. They’re a mix of successful artists, musicians, and business owners. Everyone else who lives on the street seems friendly enough and pretty peaceful. Everyone gets on well and sometimes we throw fun street parties.
Short Journeys and Transportation
Leo’s penchant for fun means lots of brief, varied, and spontaneous adventures. Even a simple weekday evening visit to a local bar or restaurant brings a welcome touch of variation and excitement to their week.
When planning a short trip, they’ll want it to be as fun and interesting as possible. They enjoy taking in the sights and sounds of interesting landmarks, cafes, or shops along the way, making each trip a mini-adventure filled with exciting new discoveries.
They often extend invitations to friends or family to accompany them, transforming their little trips into lively events. And they aren’t frightened of splashing out a bit to give themselves and their loved ones a fabulous and memorable time!
Their ideal vehicle is very likely their pride and joy and they meticulously maintain it to be in pristine condition both inside and out. They may even go the extra mile by spending more than they can comfortably afford to ensure they enjoy a luxurious ride.
Immediate Environment
These people like having fun. Whether it’s at work or at home, they enjoy the energy of other people around them including children. Of course, it has to be the right energy, though. I can’t have people in my space who are disrespectful or generally bring bad vibes. I especially can’t stand Debbie Downers.
I’ve noticed that these people have a natural talent for bringing upbeat people together and fostering a sense of camaraderie. They even engage in enthusiastic interactions with their neighbors, colleagues, and acquaintances.
Even if they aren’t blessed with much family of their own they can create families by bringing beloved friends together. The sweet and gentle company of animals is also adored by them. The presence of pets helps to create an lively and engaging atmosphere. As I mentioned earlier, I have this placement and I can absolutely attest to being fond of animals. My cat, for example, is a major player in my family. She’s almost like my child. I absolutely love her and her little white paws (she’s tuxedo colored).
Their surroundings, especially at home, may include things that can help them have a good time like streaming services, gaming consoles and large TVs, and whatever else may enrich their life experience. Personally, I love baking delicious treats like cookies and donuts so I kitted my kitchen out with the latest cooking equipment and a big TV to follow recipes on and play movies and music while I’m cooking.
These people may also be the head of their household, perhaps running it like a business. Or else, they could lead in their local community, neighborhood, workplace, or social circles. They may like to exert influence, take charge and could be viewed as integral authoritative figures. Usually, their influence is benevolent and their contributions beneficial.
Early Education
These were the sort of pupils to take their teachers thoughtful gifts. In yesteryear, students would give apples to their teachers but these children might be inclined to be more generous and gift things like large boxes of chocolates or stuffed animals.
Generally, they adored being praised and noticed by students and teachers alike. If their work or answers in class were exceptionally good and they received commendations for it, it felt very rewarding to them. They liked to shine and stand out amidst the mass of students.
They very likely revelled in being popular and talked about because it made them feel like a local celebrity. And if they weren’t hugely popular, they still enjoyed a fraction of the spotlight by having their good work, good behavior, or other accomplishments recognised and applauded.
They especially enjoyed having other students approach them for help with their work, fashion or friendship advice, or advice on how to become popular. It made them feel valued, special, and most importantly, in charge. It helped them to feel useful and provided their self esteem with a boost.
In sports, they were competitive and played to win because it meant getting more attention and praise. They also enjoyed the camaraderie, fun, laughter and general enjoyment of the games they played.
The worst thing they could have been accused of was being average as they desired to stand out as much as possible — and in as many ways as possible including intelligence, eloquence, physical attractiveness, or even possessing a unique kind of aura!
Technology
Having a creative mind, they might be drawn to software, social media and tools that allow them to create art, write, or express themselves digitally. For example, graphic design software, A.I. image creation, video editing tools, music production software, social media apps, and blogging platforms.
These people often have a strong desire to build and promote a personal brand. In the digital age, this means publishing creative content on social media or on other online platforms where they can showcase their talents and achievements.
Being active and sporty, they might find fitness trackers and smartwatches useful for staying in shape and monitoring their physical health and overall well-being. They enjoy tech that enhances their physical well-being and allows them to set and achieve fitness goals.
Ultimately, they especially appreciate tech that enhances their ability to express themselves in some form or fashion, for example, for entertainment or the creation of a memorable and impressive online presence.
Manual Skills
Typically, they gravitate towards creative crafts like sculpting, drawing, and painting. Fashion is another stereotypical Leonine interest and they can absolutely excel in it, especially if they have a significant amount of Libra in their chart.
Creating things with others is also tons of fun for them, as well as perhaps more mentally stimulating. The competitive element is also welcomed. Whether it’s cooking, interior designing, up-cycling, writing a play, gardening or jewellery making, they like to have company — as long as it’s the right kind.
