Sagittarius in 5th House: A Heart That Seeks Wonder

Creativity

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, spirituality, philosophy, and higher leaning rules the mutable, masculine fire sign Sagittarius. Sagittarian creativity is therefore often marked by the need to create for the purpose of self-growth, to inspire growth in others, for learning, or teaching something to others.

It also seems to be the case that whatever these people create from the heart is done so with tremendous amounts of enthusiasm. Sagittarius isn’t known for doing things by half — with the influence of Sagittarius in the 5th, these people often effusively jump at projects that feel fun as well as purposeful.

These natives are inclined towards a variety of creative outlets, especially physical ones like dance, ballet, synchronised swimming and gymnastics. But when they aren’t in the mood for a lot of action, they have a particular fascination for writing, encompassing storytelling, poetry, journalling, screenplay writing, and the art of crafting humor.

Part of their love language is also the creation and sharing of food. Gatherings at theirs may be brimming with all sorts of delicious and well thought out meals and snacks. Even if they’re hosting a small book club meet, their table may be laden with the most beautiful bites to eat! They just need to keep an eye on how much they consume as Jupiter also indicates over indulgence.

Self-Expression

Being avid learners, much of the way in which they express themselves may be through what they teach. Even if they aren’t teachers, they know a little about a lot and feel compelled to share their knowledge with others. They feel as if almost everyone would be interested in what they have to say too, because, as they see it, who wouldn’t find it fun to learn new things?

Unless the house has some difficult aspects to it, these individuals don’t usually have a problem with expressing themselves. In fact, they often do so freely in many different ways and often with a lot of enthusiasm. They tend to be talkative and use their hands to express themselves too.

Expressing themselves through acts of generosity also happens here, be it through thoughtful gifts, cooking large meals for others, throwing expensive parties, contributing their time or money, or engaging in various other forms of benevolence.

Environments that allow them to be themselves, freely and openly, especially when it comes to sharing their many opinions on all kinds of things, are preferred. They feel like they can really grow and learn in such places without having to pretend to be someone else —someone perhaps more restrained or traditional.

Romance and Relationships

Being a fire sign, and a masculine sign, these people tend to be confident and direct when approaching someone they’re interested in. They could be so bold that they just walk up to, text or email a love interest and ask them out on a date without hesitating.

When looking for a partner, they tend to go for those who are self-assured and unafraid to be their authentic selves. If they’re also interested in pursuits that help to broaden one’s horizons like travel and reading varied literature, all the better. They tend to gravitate towards intellectual people, capable of critical thinking and questioning the status quo. Someone who just accepts virtually everything they observe may not be mentally stimulating enough for them.

When attempting to find out what someone is like in love, please also take a look at Venus, the planet of love, and Mars, the planet which governs drive. The Moon, which represents one’s emotional nature, is also important as our emotions have a lot to do with what brings us fulfilment, including romantic relationships.

Children and Parenthood

Generally speaking, they want their children to get as much out of life as possible. They don’t want them to be sitting around at home, or spending too long on any one thing. Similarly to those of a Geminean leaning, they think that variety is the spice life. They actively encourage them to embrace a wide range of experiences, prioritising positivity while recognising the valuable lessons that can also be gleaned from negative ones too.

Typically, these people are open-minded and unfazed by their children’s interests even if they’re vastly different to their own when they were the same age.

Their children may be philosophical, open-minded, spiritual and/or keen leaners. Some of their fondest memories may have been from their school days, where they were flooded with all sorts of subjects and their bourgeoning young minds soaked up knowledge like a sponge.

As adults, they might work in fields like teaching, politics, spirituality, mysticism, or fields dedicated to the well-being of others, including nursing, medicine, medical research, and social care. They may be blessed with an adventurous, confident and ethical spirit.

Recreation and Entertainment

These people can also be surprisingly romantic when the occasion warrants it. They love going on lots of lovely short, as well as long, romantic vacations with their partner, who, with any luck, share their passion for adventure! Destinations that offer both adventure and ample opportunities for romanic moments are probably the best when it comes to wooing someone new.

These individuals love to relax and have fun. They tend to do so with ease and revel in having fun during their time off. A friend at University had this placement and she had the most enviable work vs life balance. While I was unable to switch off from work on holidays, even during Christmas, she was able to draw a very clear line between her work and leisure time. I really envied her for it.

She had beautiful, exciting Instagram worthy vacations — the photos of which I’m sure would have been shared on the app if it had existed during our University days. She also had numerous fun interests and hobbies. In particular, she loved to collect natural materials and incorporate them into these big, imposing sculptures that she made. Enjoying her leisure time seemed to ensure that she remained a relaxed, happy and productive student while I felt chronically burnt out by not being able to switch off and recharge as effortlessly.

Venturing Into the Unknown

Sagittarius has absolutely no problem with venturing into the unknown. Quite the contrary — it’s what it craves and does best with unwavering enthusiasm. Ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion, learning, and adventure, Sagittarius is constantly striving to try new things and that includes taking risks of all kinds! Whether it’s a new investment, business, relationship, home, all things new constitute exciting adventures for these people. Their innate sense of optimism with regard to their ventures may also frequently manifest many positive outcomes for them, as if miraculously.

Famous hypnotherapist and author, Dolores Cannon, had this placement. She spent the latter part of her life hypnotising a wide variety of people using somnambulistic hypnotherapy to access her client’s subconscious minds on a very deep level. As a result, most of them, amazingly, appeared to connect to a higher source and imparted much advanced spiritual knowledge and wisdom. This was much to her surprise initially as she thought it would simply help to reprogram the subconscious rather than anything else!

She could have taken a very different path in life by ignoring the information that she had received but instead she decided to document her findings in her many books for her readers to enjoy and learn from. By doing so, she arguably facilitated the spiritual growth of readers all over the world. Many people would argue that she was a wonderful, highly effective catalyst for the expansion of people’s minds, hearts, and souls.
