Aquarius in 6th House: Unconventional Work and Truly Inspired Wellness

Work and Employment

Their career or jobs could change a lot. Understandably, not many people know what they want to do for the rest of their lives at age sixteen! So, they may therefore change their career later in life and do something completely different. They may also change jobs often, moving around to find a role that feels right and appreciates them. Some career changes may come suddenly and out of the blue for reasons out of their control. For example, they may be made redundant by their employer suddenly deciding to cut employees to save money.

Their qualifications or work could differ from the norm somehow. For example, they could be a pilot, pet psychologist, voice actor, or museum guide. Being drawn to mystical vocations, they may also opt for careers such as energy healer or astrologer. Or perhaps their work is visionary in nature and involves the development of advanced technology of some kind. Many engineers have Aquarius energy prominent in their birth charts.

This is a very independent sign so there is a good chance of self-employment. If so, their business is likely to be unorthodox in some way. Perhaps they own a gothic themed motel or a bug farm which breeds edible insects. Whatever their work, they will probably choose to work with lots of people but they absolutely must get on well with them. A dash of wry humor is par for the course at work so their employees should also have a good sense of humor. If the right staff cannot be found, they will be happy to work completely alone.

In the workplace, they have their own way of working which could seem unusual to others but makes perfect sense to them. They may be viewed by those they work with as friendly, open-minded and altruistic yet also a little idealistic, eccentric or unpredictable at times. They could stand out as being exceptionally intelligent or humanitarian by caring about those around them and society at large.

Service to Others and Responsibilities

Aquarius and Virgo are strongly service oriented signs. So, when Aquarius sits on the cusp of the house associated with Virgo and service to others, a forceful combination is created —these people are remarkably caring and service oriented. Those around them see them as invaluable family members or citizens, really valuing and appreciating their one on one care and contributions to society.

Their care for humanity may be demonstrated through excellent recycling habits, campaigning for equal rights and being conscious of how they treat others.

Trivial Matters and Solving Problems

Trivial matters aren’t usually taken to heart for too long. Similarly to Sagittarian types, they prefer to stay focused on the bigger picture and find trivial matters quite boring and pointless. While some situations and people will undoubtedly grind their gears, they are generally able to move on from things using logic and reason. However, their personal version of logic and reason may differ from the norm.

They may also surprise people by behaving in unexpected ways during challenging situations. For example, by being cool and calm in an emotionally charged situation when their usual temperament is emotional. Or perhaps they’re suddenly understanding and emotional in a difficult situation when they are usually cool and aloof. Being a cerebral sign, disagreements are often solved with good communication including through the use of well-written, objective, thoughtful e-mails or texts.

Daily Routine and General Order

Too much of anything bores them so repetitive tasks never seem to stick with them. Variation with a healthy dose of occasional spontaneity is needed to keep them feeling fulfilled and content. Their daily routine may therefore be a bit different every day with a new activity or a trip to a local coffee shop to try out a new beverage but still, everything they need to do gets done.

While others may be rather militant about keeping order in their lives and homes, these people are satisfied with having some order. For instance, home organization does not necessarily involve keeping everything in boxes, pots and draws as demonstrated over and over on social media. Instead, they’re happy to be somewhat organized so their surroundings are tidy, they know where things are, and what their schedule is for the week.

Pets and Animals

Animals are close to their hearts. I have a close friend with this placement and she rescues cats and kittens. She’s always cared for animals that have been abandoned, sick, or injured and are in need of good care.

While most people are drawn to keeping animals such as cats and dogs as pets, some of these people may choose unusual animals. For example, exotic or wild animals like tortoises, rare fish, or lizards. When growing up the friend I mentioned earlier kept stick insects. As a child, I thought it was really strange and I dreaded going to the living room where they were kept but she loved them and was a fantastic stick insect mom!

Self Improvement and Wellbeing

While others may go straight to a personal trainer or life coach, these people often seek alternative forms of self-improvement. For example, they may feel innately drawn to consult a spiritual person, priest, psychic, medium, astrologer, or tarot reader for guidance on how they can change things in their life.

Aquarius is the non-conformist of the zodiac system. It is therefore hard to predict what their stance is on their personal wellbeing. On the one hand, they may wish to consume whatever they want whenever they want. Things like calorie counting, stress reduction, and time off work and could sound monotonous and mundane to them. Or perhaps they oscillate between maintaining a really healthy lifestyle and eating a lot or not eating enough.

Alternative ways of keeping in good shape tend to pique their interest also including with nutritional supplements, homeopathy, Reiki, crystal healing, Shiatsu, scalp massage, acupuncture, meditation, and so on.

Creating their own complimentary treatments means of keeping well could also appeal to them. I knew an elderly couple with this placement — both had Virgo Rising in their birth charts along with many Taurus and Libra placements; they lived in a stately home in the English countryside with a huge, ornate Victorian conservatory round the back. All sorts of plants and herbs were grown there including mint and chamomile, both of which are praised for their various benefits.
