Lilith-North Node Synastry Aspects: Karmic Sparks and Soul Lessons
Synastric connections involving Black Moon Lilith and the North Node are invariably intense, and somewhat prophetic because the North Node is all about this current life and what the Soul set out to accomplish before it incarnated.
Of course, both the North lunar Node and BML are calculated chart points as opposed to physical celestial bodies.
Lilith Conjunct North Node Synastry: The Fated Shadow Awakens
Here, there is a deep and seriously compelling invisible pull. Both partners can sense it strongly and have probably wished for something akin to it. They can’t quite put their fingers on what makes this unseen force feel so intriguing but they feel as if they are meant to be together.
Early on in the connection, an unseen force is felt. This force pushes both partners toward profound discovery of themselves as individuals. Parts that were perhaps covered up or completely disowned may somehow be brought to the surface to be faced, fully acknowledged, and dealt with appropriately.
This isn’t an easy connection because of this but it was very likely what both Souls wanted and planned for in Spirit before birth. They wanted to have their memories jogged, past life traumas and issues brought to light for clearing, and decided that it might be better for this all to happen as a couple. Another possibility is that the relationship triggers great self discovery and healing upon breakup, or during very challenging times.
Benefits
Pre-planned shadow work: Very likely, there’s a deep clean of emotional difficulties that’s going on here. If it hasn’t yet, it very likely will. The sort of difficulties I’m talking about could include past life issues of all kinds and traumas from this current life. This is wonderful, and a gift. If you think about it, many relationships form, but don’t necessarily address deep issues that, if cleared, may drastically improve the lives of both parties, as well as the relationship. Clearing away “baggage” as people so often like to call emotional issues, allows both partners to move forward in a much more joyous way and both will probably feel a lot more comfortable and secure together, too.
Healing sexual expression: A healthy intimate life is the backbone of most happy romantic relationships. Without it, the entire union stands to crumble. Luckily, here, the Lilith individual is fully prepared and wiling to help their partner release shame and/or embrace desires they’ve kept hidden (probably completely) for years and years. Because of Lilith’s acceptance of their partner’s darker side (and we all have one, no matter how innocent we may appear on the surface), an exciting intimate life, and an emotionally deeper and more satisfying bond can come about.
Acknowledgement of life purpose: The more self exploration that takes place, the more both parties begin to understand one another better and each other. And here, the more they see, they more they like. The Lilith lover motivates their Node partner to follow the path they sense their Soul is guiding them toward. They might do this by encouraging them to look inwards, meditate, or by encouraging them to take more risks, pursue creative projects, or start a business of their own etc. We all have a calling in life. I think mine was to interpret astrological placements. If we really take the time to think about what we feel most passionately about, finding our life purpose may not be so hard.
Potential Challenges
Great deal of triggering: Both trigger each other deeply, which is arguably one of, if not the most important aspect, of their connection. Lilith wants to bring everything to the light to deal with and the Node person wishes to do the same with the main aim being to move forward in their connection and in life generally. While the end result may be fantastic and really help strengthen the relationship in the long run, the road to a better, more stable, happier and healthier connection might be a bit bumpy at times. Like most things in life, it all depends on how things are dealt with.
Brimming with intensity: There’s no doubt in my mind that this is an intense synastry aspect. I mean, wherever Lilith is involved, things will feel intense but the North Node of destiny is also pretty intense, too considering it’s all about fate and life purpose; two very serious life themes! So, at times, this connection can feel heavy, especially for the Node lover who may feel too pressured to change too fast by their other half.
Social norms challenged: Lilith is unconventional and hedonistic. The North Node isn’t so much. Lilith may feel like challenging society’s norms and this can make their partner feel uncomfortable. This shouldn’t be taken by the Lilith person as rejection or dismissal or anything of the sort, really. It’s more just about the fact that the Node partner has their comfort zone and wishes to remain in it. Sometimes, it can be beneficial to step outside it, but also, sometimes, it can just be plain uncomfortable!
My Personal Thoughts
While this might not feel like a particularly “happy go lucky” aspect — at least, the beginning, there’s so much potential for things to become amazing over time if both partners do the shadow work. This is one of those unions that improves with time rather than decays with time. If you share this aspect with your partner, just bear in mind that shadow work, or spiritual healing, may need to go on for some time. Some people don’t require much at all, yet for others, inner healing may be a lifelong journey.
Lilith Trine North Node Synastry: Joyful Progression
While more harmonious that an opposition or square, this aspect still shares the same ultimate purpose; to awaken both parties their full potential and to knock off any deep and lingering emotional challenges along the way.
To offer you what I think is a good example, a friend of mine had this aspect with a partner and while it was a minor aspect and therefore not so impactful in her relationship, it still meant that her partner (the Lilith person) encouraged her often to take art classes and promote her artwork on social media.
She’s a full-time artist now, which is especially amazing in the face of our AI driven society, but the road to her success was challenging. She really had to work on her confidence and had to start seeing her work for what it truly was: delightfully whimsical and utterly beautiful. Her partner played a major role in pushing her out of her comfort zone and helped her to overcome her lack of self confidence.
Benefits
Living authentically: Both partners desire to live authentic lives; to do whatever they want for a living, to be friends with whoever they want, to say and think whatever they want, and so on. The Lilith person could gently encourage their lover to really find and take on such an authentic way of life. They may inspire their partner to do so, and their partner is wide open to it, as it’s probably something they’ve wanted to do since forever!
Harmonious Soul searching: Both partners, but especially the Lilith person, may feel naturally compelled to help the other emotionally. They sense the things that bother and trigger their partner. Because of this, they may feel compelled to gently embrace their fears and examine their pain points in life — some of which may be very old and long since buried. By taking to each other about their deepest fears and wounds, they may find relief from them, and also that their relationship becomes stronger and more mutually trusting.
Refreshing outlook on life: As a couple, they may gain an even more positive and joyful outlook on life. Frequently, in new relationships, we can feel as if we’re on cloud nine but this may be far more long lasting here, and it’s not just how each partner perceives the other. Being together, they may encourage one another to appreciate life more and find joy in even the smallest of things. Lilith may be more encouraging, pushing their Node lover to celebrate the little things in life, and perhaps also to enjoy life even more by taking up a creative pastime like dancing, signing or painting!
Potential Challenges
Hidden fears and wounds: Even in a trine, insecurities can still rear their not-so-pretty heads! And we ALL have insecurities simply because we are human. Lilith in particular may accidentally bring up old fears and insecurities with apparent ease. These do tend to come up for healing, though. And while it may not be possible to heal every single fear, insecurity etc, many can still be made far better and managed well.
Growth vs comfort: Since this tends to be a very happy aspect that works well to keep both partners feeling supported, there may be a danger of not wishing to step outside of one’s comfort zone. Growth is important — after all, it’s how we get on in life (and how my artist friend went from amateur artist to full-time pro artist!). if both partners can carry on encouraging each other to try new things without fear, they may both find that they achieve a lot more than they thought they ever could! And I think that should feel incredibly rewarding for them both!
Smoothing over issues: Again, because both of these people feel so at ease with each other, they may default to smoothing over their differences and issues. This can potentially lead to bigger issues and divides down the line. Issues should really be examined and dealt with upfront so that they don’t fester or grow. Sometimes, having it out, so to speak, can help clear the air, establish boundaries, and at any rate, a partner who really cares will want to listen to how their other half feels. Smoothing over most things most of the time is therefore not the answer. At least, not in this astrologer’s opinion!
My Personal Thoughts
I see this as a mutually supportive and overall, pleasant aspect. It can still be intense at times — any aspect involving Black Moon Lilith is — that’s it’s job! But it’s still overall a productive connection which encourages living authentically and to the fullest extent possible, all while feeling supported, accepted, and heard.
Lilith Sextile North Node Synastry: Growing With Ease and Grace
Sextiles aren’t quite as intensely positive as trines and therefore tend to come with slightly greater challenges but, overall, their energy still flows smoothly and gracefully and the union is productive. Here, both partners are supportive towards one another and encourage personal growth, inner healing, and an authentic way of living.
Benefits
Mutual inspiration: Lilith’s unfiltered energy sparks creativity in their partner. They could inspire them to tae up a new hobby or even career in a creative field like art, music, dance or writing. They also happily explore things the Node person finds a bit taboo or daring but their partner is happy to witness this as they find them refreshingly alive and different and their quirks, charming and endearing.
Healthy boundaries: From the get-go, both are aware that healthy boundaries in a relationship are really good to have in place. Lilith may help their partner to strengthen their personal boundaries further, though. They may do this, for instance, by gently pushing them to always stand up for themselves in a calm but firm manner and not allow others to take advantage of them. This can feel very empowering for the Node partner and it may even help them to increase their self confidence, which in turn may help them on their destined life path.

Potential Challenges
Lighter shadow side exploration: Unlike the conjunction or square aspects, personal growth feels lighter and more like an option rather than something that almost needs to happen. The Lilith person may be more inclined to open some doors to healing and both can sense where the other may be experiencing issues, but they must want to do the work in order for healing to take place.
Small misunderstandings: Lilith is unconventional and sometimes hard to read. So, their behavior may sometimes really puzzle their partner and leave them scratching their head. Too many little misunderstandings can eventually create friction and/or a distance so they should probably be clarified rather than ignored or brushed under the carpet, so to speak.
Idealization: They find each other fascinating and there’s an energy here of a school sweetheart connection — or at least, that’s how it intuitively feels to me. And while that’s absolutely lovely, we do tend to idolize our first love. We almost automatically see them through rose tinted glasses. We may think of them as the perfect lover or the perfect friend but they may not be perfect as no one is. We all have our good points and our bad points and I think it’s beneficial if we can spot these in one another so we can accept them and embrace the entire person as they really are.

This is a peaceful and mutually encouraging aspect. Healing takes place more gently here and there’s a lot of mutual support. I think that if both take the opportunities that this connection presents them with — healing past traumas, expressing their intimate desires and increasing their self confidence etc, they stand to gain a great deal and form a lasting, strong bond at the same time.
Lilith Opposite North Node Synastry: Where Shadow Meets Soul Purpose
Similar to the conjunct aspect, this is a bit of a toughie. It’s ultimate goal, though, is to encourage Soul growth in both partners. This happens mainly thanks to the Lilith person; they actively persuade their Node partner to acknowledge any not-so-positive behavioural patterns – like people pleasing, under-reacting or overreacting, and push them to iron them out. This might feel difficult for the Node person, especially in the beginning, but it’s for their good at the end of the day.
Benefits
Active Soul growth: So, as I just mentioned in the introduction bit directly above, there’s a lot of potential in this union for Soul growth to happen, especially at quite a rapid rate as Lilith constantly points out where their partner may learn and grow and improve themselves and their life.
Magnetism encourages transformation: Since the attraction between them is so intense, they don’t want to lose each other. That said, they know on some level that they must grow if they are to stay together in the long run. I think this is pretty true for us all. For the most part, we do need to get rid of the emotional baggage and lighten up to be more of a joy to be around. Potential Challenges
Strong triggering of wounds: Lilith can conjure up feelings and old wounds and traumas and their significant other can find this painful and really quite tricky to deal with. They’d probably rather this didn’t happen but it may very well help them to deal with their stuff. Clearing away old, heavy energies, beliefs, traumas etc can allow them to march on in life with a much cleaner slate. And, of course, it should go without saying that their relationship will benefit, too. Perhaps greatly.
Hot and cold, push-pull dynamic: The connection at times seems to oscillate between magnetic and irresistible and cool and uncertain. Also, the Lilith individual could feel a bit trapped at times in the connection, despite really wanting to be in it, because they really value their freedom and independence. The Node person may find this confusing. As always, gentle yet honest communication helps to resolve a swathe of issues and set any fears and grumbles aside.
Emotional overwhelm: Sometimes, this union can feel intensely overwhelming. I see this as a challenging aspect. The dynamic can feel uneasy at times but if both parties are willing to do the inner/shadow work, especially together, they can grow so much as individuals and as a couple. It’s a connection that can last and feel very rewarding and fulfilling if the kinks get ironed out. I think it’s all for their greater good and certainly, any inner work we do helps to raise our vibration which in turn helps raise the vibration of the collective, which is wonderful.
Lilith Square North Node Synastry: Tension and Transformation
Squares are the toughest aspects of them all. They create the most tension. But, they also often equate to a great amount of Soul growth f we lear from the challenges they so often present us with. After all, it’s the hardest lessons we face here on Earth that can help us to grow the most. This couple can also support one another as they move through their various challenges and rise above them better; and stronger as a couple.
Benefits
Specific, fated purpose: This relationship was probably meant to be quite challenging at times. The moments of friction and the tension between them can bring up issues for healing if they are discussed properly. The Lilith person may bring wounds, traumas and insecurities to the surface but these can be unearthed for healing and learning from. The Node person may do the same to a lesser extent and trigger their lover in different ways. Both can work through their various issues as individuals and as a couple. They are supportive and caring towards on another so this massive triggering can be deal with effectively, leaving their future together clear of debris.
Electrifying attraction: Both feel incredibly drawn to one another, like two strong magnets. They enjoy an intense emotional and physical life together and as a couple, encourage each other to live life to the fullest, enjoying all that it has to offer. Intense fun is desired here and one or both of them could even be thrill seekers! But even if they aren’t, the small things in life, as well as the bigger things, are relished and not forgotten or taken for granted.
Unearthing longstanding issues and patterns: Lilith is likely to point out, perhaps occasionally too directly, their partner’s not-so-positive or productive behavioural patterns and longstanding fears, insecurities, traumas, etc. The Node person may return the favor. Ultimately, as challenging and uncomfortable as this all is, it’s so both partners can heal; heal each other and themselves. This can, of course, be achieved by talking things through with one another or by undertaking some form of healing with a third party like a therapist or energy healer. I would even suggest some past life healing here.
Potential Challenges
High highs and low lows: As the drama here can be pretty high; after all, this connection involves raw and intense Black Moon Lilith, there can be some dramatic highs and lows. I think this is to be expected because this couple is going through some major transformation, and choosing on a Soul level to go through it together. Since no two people are totally alike, there can be some major disagreements and even falling outs, but I think the seriously deep attraction to one another keeps them both together and hopefully, doing their shadow work together.
Struggles with control: Both may wish to take the overall lead in their union. The North Node person naturally remains focused on the future and is confident about leading the relationship into it but their Lilith lover may also wish to direct. So, a clash may occur here. Both may do well to simply focus on what’s best for them as a couple. If they can consistently think about that, they will naturally gravitate towards the “right” choices anyway.
Different ideas, goals, and paths: The Lilith person may feel at odds with the Node person’s life plan, their various responsibilities (we all have so many of them these days), and day to day activities, chores, etc. There may also be other mis-matches, for instance, their friendship groups may clash with each other or they might have a different ideas of where they’d ideally like to live, the sort of lifestyle they’d like to have, and so on. My Personal Thoughts
No two ways about it, this is a difficult one. Lilith is raw, passionate and determined energy and it’s completely itself. The North Lunar Node has its sights set on the future, changing itself for better and walking its destined life path. Those are both undoubtedly intense energies. It’s just constructive to always bear in mind that working through issues that one has as an individual and perhaps also as a couple can only clear the way for a much brighter, secure and comfortable future.
Lilith Quincunx North Node Synastry: Feeling Misaligned
I’ve only recently got to serious grips with the Quincunx aspect in astrology. I find it rather an off-beat one. The other major and minor aspects are so easy to understand by comparison. This one’s true meaning has evaded me for a while but since I’m writing about it often now, I’ve decided to learn more about it.
I now feel I understand its energy and when this aspect involves raw, passionate feminine Lilith and the North Node of fate, a strange and viciously magnetic attraction is brought about… It can feel a bit off-kilter, as if the connection was meant to be but there’s a slight feeling of awkwardness that neither one can quite put their finger on. These two are meant to cross paths and can, of course, choose to stay together or not. While together, much learning and growth (and fun!) can be had!
Benefits
Utter enchantment: The pull is undeniable and even other people around them can see it as it’s so strong. They feel as if they’ve known each other before. The Node person loves Lilith’s intense, authentic and uninhibited sort of energy and Lilith in turn likes how their partner looks to the future and is focuses quite heavily on inner growth. They find each other’s outlook refreshing.
A feeling of karma being at work: From the start, they probably felt as if they’ve known each other before. There’s a feeling of familiarity and intuitively, they may sense that on some level, karma is at play. Maybe they sense that they were together in one or more past lives and now they’ve fond each other again, but they also intuit that there’s some karma to be ironed out in their connection, too. And there probably is.
Viewpoint shifts and changes: There may be an unconscious awakening going on between them. The Lilith partner may inspire their lover in a round about kind of way to open up to new truths, see life differently, become more tolerant or whatever they feel they need. But this isn’t necessarily done consciously. It just comes naturally. Likewise, the Node individual might just unsycnsiusly steer their partner toward being even more authentic or taming certain aspects of themselves they think might be a bit too wild. But again, this isn’t done with irritation or with specific intention. It’s more in passing or unconscious.
Potential Challenges
Weird, tense feeling: As I said earlier, there’s a feeling as if something is a bit off in the union. Neither party can make out what may be missing or mis-aligned exactly. In some instances, they may be able to identify what isn’t quite right, but for the most part, it’s just an awkward sort of feeling at times. It may be the case, though, that nothing at all is a-miss! It’s just the feeling this aspect induces and it should fade with time because with time, both parties will get to know each other much better.
Growth at different paces: It could be that one of them is more keen on personal and/or spiritual growth than the other. The Lilith person might think that they’re evolving too quickly and that their partner is lagging behind. If this the case, patience is needed as the Node individual may very well catch up, but that’s up to them. Of course, we all evolve at the pace we feel comfortable with. Inner growth is a highly personal journey.
Different needs and/or responsibilities: The Lilith person may be more focused on freedom, enjoying life as much as possible, and being frank about their thoughts and feelings. The Node partner may be more focused on the future, finding their true calling in life (including a career they adore), and financial security. All of these things, however, are important so with enough compromise, they should be able to compromise and find a balance.
My Personal Thoughts
Although in the beginning they feel mis-aligned, it doesn’t mean that this will last and last. The more they get to know one another, the stronger and more predictable their connection will grow. Feeling properly in-sync might take longer than with other couples but it should actually come about at some point! I know a couple with a more negative Quincunx aspect in their synastry chart and they’ve worked out their differences just fine. They’ve been happily together for decades now, too. So, I think it can definitely all work out.
Lilith Sesquiquadrate North Node Synastry: Transformative Tension
There’s an ever so subtle yet persistent tension here. It’s not a hideous amount of tension that can set your teeth on edge (unlike perhaps the square aspect listed above), but it’s there and it gently pushes them both to challenge themselves and each other and, ultimately, grow and transform themselves.
Benefits
Gentle growth: Rapid growth can happen with some of the stronger aspects involving these two calculated points. However, this one is softer so the grow that it facilitates is gentler too. They both feel naturally feel inclined to discover more about themselves and the world around them and to improve or change the things they don’t necessarily like about themselves. More self-acceptance is also on the cards here though as the Lilith partner can bolster their lover’s self love and self confidence. They are also mutually supportive of one another and gently encourage each other to go for their dreams.
Confronting hidden desires: Lilith actively persuades their lover to confront their hidden desires, including their most intimate desires. Because of this, both can enjoy a really fun, lively, and very un-awkward time in the bedroom.
Enough magnetism without intensity: The attraction isn’t overwhelming intense. It’s pleasant and more balanced than it is with other aspects involving the Black Moon. Of course, don’t misunderstand me; it’s still very much there and it’s a deep attraction but it’s more settled and grounded rather than off the scale, want to rip off your clothes all the time, type of passion.
Potential Challenges
Underlying friction or irritation: It’s the tension that can really encourage growth but it’s not so intense, which is good. Still, it’s enough for each partner to go within and question why they feel irritated or upset with their partner. It may be that what they have done or said isn’t good, but it also could be that they’re triggered by a fair comment or behavior. Going within means healing and that happens for both of them in this union.
Habitual miscommunication: Lilith can be a bit intense and that may sometimes be misunderstood as criticism or provocation. But it’s very likely neither. It’s just their way. Over time, this may be understood and accepted. After all, the more you get to know someone, the more you understand their personality and when they mean something they say or do to be unpleasant and when they don’t.
Unexpected triggering: This connection may bring up some hidden insecurities, fears etc. Things that might have been fine with earlier partners might feel uncomfortable in this union. Working through things together with good, clear communication and compassion is the way forward.
My Personal Thoughts
I think it’s nice that Lilith is involved in this aspect and yet there isn’t so much intensity. It’s sort of like this couple can enjoy the best of Lilith in a way because there’s enough tension to induce personal transformation but without it being too much. Plus, the raw passion, fun-loving side of it is still very much present! I think this can be a productive and passionate connection and it should be nurtured to get the most out of it and encourage it to last the distance.
Lilith Quintile North Node Synastry: Inspired Growth and Masked Talents
This quintile makes a sort of magical connection. Or certainly at least, magic is in the air when they first start dating. It’s the kind of connection that inspires both partners to offer mutual support and appreciation. It’s creative and open-minded and positive from the outset. They probably have lots in common off the bat and can’t wait to explore life as a couple.
Benefits
Masked talents unearthed: Lilith awakens or inspires hidden talents to surface in their partner. I had this connection with an ex and he encouraged me to start drawing. We were only teens but he saw from my sketches that I had some degree of talent, or at least interest in drawing, and he gently encouraged me to sketch more. I did and I got better at it and even got into art school later on. I sketched him quite a lot while we were an item and that also helped me to understand that I did have some ability.
Mutual inspiration: The Lilith person is also inspired by their Node lover. They see their other half as very unique with original qualities and an interesting outlook on life. They may be inspired by their partner to try more new things, have more fun and throw caution to the wind a bit more in general!
Karmic opportunity for learning and inner growth: Breakthroughs that seem small aren’t so small when they’re added up and there are plenty of those in this union. The Lilith lover points out unhelpful patterns of thinking, behavior etc in their partner and, if they’re open to it, their partner may very well think on them and perhaps go about changing them.
Potential Challenges
Niggling sense of misalignment: Sometimes, there’s a feeling of something being a bit off or not quite right or appetising. This is mostly down to the aspect. It doesn’t actually mean that something is off. And both can simply sit down and talk things through anyway and that uneasiness should dissipate. Or else it should naturally dissipate with time and getting to know one another much better anyway.
Lilith as a muse for their partner: Owing to Lilith’s creativity, originality, liveliness and vivacity, they unconsciously (or consciously!) act as a sort of muse for the Node partner. They find them charming and high unique and that may inspire them in some creative capacity. My ex who was the Lilith party in our relationship was so incredibly unique. I’d never met anyone like him before. I was almost hypnotised by him. It certainly felt like it at the time! And because of the way I felt about him, I was inspired to sketch a lot but I also felt compelled to explore other artistic mediums, too.
Hidden tension: While some unexpected tension may crop up now and again, it can be dealt with. It just comes as a surprise; almost when it’s least expected! And that can be a bit unnerving.
My Personal Thoughts
While this isn’t a major aspect, of course, it’s an interesting one and it still holds some weight. It can be especially productive, too if the Node person reveals some talents they’ve been sitting on for a while thanks to the encouragement from their partner. Any feelings of something not being quite right in the connection can be tackled and much calmer seas ahead may be experienced.
The growth that can occur here is another major bonus. When my relationship with the ex I mentioned above came to a rather abrupt end, I did a lot of Soul searching and I think I grew a lot as a result. It certainly helped me to mature and propelled me into my twenties with a better understanding of the opposite gender.
