Pisces Sun Sign: The Compassionate Dreamer and Mystic
Pisces is the final sign in the zodiac system. Being the last, it has accumulated much wisdom as it has travelled around the zodiac wheel. Some of the kinder, or more spiritual Pisceans among us have an ethereal aura about them. They tend to be wise beyond their earthly years, understanding, and helpful, although they can be very easily hurt and are inclined to protect their energy. Their imagination and creativity knows no bounds and if they could be left to their own devices in an ideal world, they would like to create beautiful things in beautiful spaces all day long.
Pisces is also the last water sign. Like the other water signs, Cancer and Scorpio, it is a feminine sign which means that it’s introverted. It’s ruled solely by planet Neptune, which is associated with dreams, the subconscious, intuition, spirituality, seclusion, and illusion among other things which I’ll discuss later on. It’s connected to the twelfth astrological house, which is associated with the very same themes as the sign. The date range stretches from February 19th to March 20th. Its astrological archetype is two fish swimming in opposite directions. Sometimes, they are shown as being connected. Its astrological symbol, and emoji, is ♓.
Admirable Attributes
These people tend to be very sweet, mild mannered, forgiving, and sympathetic. The kindest of Pisceans are always eager to jump at the chance to help others in whatever way they can. They don’t tend to hold grudges. If someone with this sign does, it probably won’t be for long. Of course, this depends on what was said or done to them, but for the most part, they are willing to forgive, forget, and move on with their lives. They appreciate the importance of having good relationships with others and they are aware that nothing in life is perfect, nor do they expect perfection from others.
These individuals inspire other with their unique take on life and their frequently spiritual outlook. In some cases, they may also make excellent natural healers. Jesus, for instance, was a Pisces. Of course, not all Pisceans are healers, or even spiritual, but those who are tend to easily tune into the emotions of others to offer them support. Some believe that this sign has an especially strong connection with the spiritual realm and is able to draw from it to help them heal themselves and others. Personally, I think this is true. And sometimes, I have found it to be true even if they aren’t especially spiritual.
Many Pisceans and water types can probably be classed as highly sensitive people or empaths, or both. Not only are they sensitive to their surroundings, including sounds, and even smells, but to the energies of others including the energies they carry. Their energies and even their thoughts, can be telepathically picked up and sometimes, this can be unnerving. Growing up, the Piscean might find their hyper sensitivity tough to deal with, although, over time, they find ways to cope. And as the buddha said, “nothing is permanent” —new methods of self preservation can always be found if previous ones are no longer effective.
These people are top drawer day dreamers, and while they day dream at home, in school, or wherever, they are mentally elsewhere; in more agreeable, or perhaps even magical, surroundings. It is during this time that their best ideas arise. Their imaginations run riot for all sorts; new business ideas, updating their home decor, or methods to overcome their challenges, and party and gifting ideas — and anything in between!
Stereotypically, Pisceans are the floaty, whimsical poets and artists. However, their extraordinary creative talents extend well beyond gentle works or art; they’re totally capable of doing anything they want! From being doctors, vets, teachers, and pilots to running their own successful, multi-million dollar venture! They seem to be especially good at naturally following their highest joy, and when we really enjoy doing something, it’s so much more likely that we’ll find success with it!
Areas for Personal Growth
What I personally find quite surprising about these people is how cold they can be when they feel hurt or disrespected. As we already know, these people can be exceptionally kind and understanding but they can also be very defensive and occasionally, this means going completely quiet. Now, they may forgive with greater ease than their water counterpart, Scorpio, but their forgiveness must be sought. They might not forgive others without what they feel is an adequate and totally sincere apology.
Being so sensitive, they occasionally feel they need an emotional crutch to support them; something that they can easily and quickly lean back on that will help them feel better. This is when addictions to things like junk food, sex, or smoking can surface. But as long as they feel consistently supported and content in life, it’s unlikely an addiction of any kind will develop.
As this sensitive sign is associated with illusions and the subconscious, it’s important to bear in mind that they can become overwhelmed and that can lead to scatty or erratic behavior. Those who feel as if things are getting on top of them, so to speak, should probably remain mindful of their mental wellbeing and take breaks for self-care whenever possible.
Physical Appearance
Those with Pisces Suns and Pisces Rising (Ascendant) are said to look a little bit fish-like. So, their eyes might be a little far apart or their teeth might be quite short and widely spaced. And if they don’t have an aquatic kind of appearance, they might have an otherworldly sort of look about them. Their facial features might be quite soft and dreamy, reflecting their gentle and mystical nature.
Their eyes can be especially sparkly and beautiful, no matter their color, shape or size. Whatever their figure may be like, they tend to move gracefully and with ease. They aren’t normally clumsy unless they are under a lot of stress.
As a Spouse
Since they possess remarkable intuition, they intuitively know what their partner feels, and what they need. And how amazing is it to have someone so in tune with your inner world?
Generally, speaking, they avoid conflict as much as possible. It throws their equilibrium off and the bad energy disagreements cause can linger in their aura for a while after. This doesn’t mean that they can’t assert themselves and that they aren’t capable of communicating their needs; they just tend to do so in a gentle way to keep things calm.
Although they can be gentle, kind, and devoted, they also need plenty of kindness, affection and warmth from their partner in return. One of the biggest reasons they marry is so they can have someone close to them, who is supportive, and who will take care of them, and vice versa. People can change during the course of marriage. If their partner becomes habitually cold or otherwise inattentive towards them, they won’t put up be able to with it forever. It would be too upsetting for them to tolerate in the long run.
Dating
Dating a Piscean can be a fun and fulfilling experience. They’re normally pretty considerate of others generally so they may well be considerate of their dates, too. They tend to have some funny and interesting or odd stories to tell, and are happy to cautiously share some things about themselves. Their easy going nature, romanticism, and sensitivity makes dates with them very pleasurable indeed.
The sort of people they are drawn to are fellow creative types who are blessed with high EQs (emotional quotas). Being gentle, understanding and soft-hearted on top of that will really grab their attention. They prefer relaxed, go with the flow types rather than serious or brooding types but one must look at the rest of the chart to see what really floats their boat, so to speak.
As a Parent
These people have extra special sweet spots for the children. They are the kind of people who are almost adverse to disciplining them, instead, allowing them to do exactly as they please, because they worry so much about their emotional wellbeing. They avoid telling them off, or restricting their freedom or fun too much. Of course, they want them to do well in life, and sadly, they know that sometimes that means laying down the law, no matter how loudly and passionately their offspring may protest.
The Piscean parent enjoys observing their chid’s imagination run wild. Their children will probably be furnished with all of the crayons, paints, colouring pencils, and toys they could ever wish for so their children can express themselves through artwork.
One of my neighbours, who I also count as a personal friend, has a Pisces Sun and Moon. She is utterly devoted to her only daughter, so much so that she’s putting her through one of the most expensive private schools in London even though she can barely afford it. She’s always telling me how much she enjoys seeing her daughter participate in lots of different creative classes and fun school trips. She’s a fabulous parent.
As a Fur Parent
These individuals are likely to provide loving, nurturing, and calm environments for their pets. They adore their pets and love them unconditionally. They tend to be the sort of people who enjoy sharing a bed with their pet, no matter how big, or furry, they are, and no matter how often they get up in the night to have a good scratch, or meow at them! They may treat their pets like their children and strive to spend as much quality time with them as possible, potentially even working from home so their beloved fur baby isn’t left alone all day long.
As a Friend
If their friends is going through it, these are the people who are ready and willing to step up. No matter how challenging the situation may be, they feel compelled to become involved and contribute all they humanly can to comfort their friend. And when things are running smoothly, they are the sort of fun, upbeat people who sweetly remember every birthday, anniversary and remembrance day. Of course, it helps if their friends reciprocate their thoughtfulness, but they won’t be too mad if they forget once in a while.
Other Astrological Placements
The Sun, Moon, Rising and Mercury placements should always be taken into consideration at a minimum. Even then, there is so much else in the birth chart to weigh up and chew on! There is so much going on in any birth chart that sometimes, I think Sun sign astrology should be done away with altogether. So, if you don’t relate to much of the above, that wouldn’t surprise me much. You might relate more to another sign or three, or you might feel like a mix of signs, because ultimately, we all are.
