Are Pisces Empaths? Why This Sign Feels Everything So Deeply
Pisces is governed by planet Neptune and linked to the twelfth house, which is associated with dreams, the other side, the arts, kindness, emotional sensitivity, and empathy. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone born under this sign is an empath. An empath is someone who is highly sensitive to the emotions and energy of other people, often to an extraordinary degree.
They energetically pick up on the feelings, moods, and thoughts of those around them and experience them as if they are their own. Often, this can feel overwhelming for them. If they don’t know they’re an empath, they might not understand why they often feel so strange.
Being the most evolved of the three water signs (Cancer and Scorpio are the other two) and in addition, the last sign in the zodiac system, Pisceans are often considered the most spiritual. And I think most astrologers would agree that many of them are indeed empaths, or at the very least, especially empathetic.
Of course, the whole birth chart should be studied but the Sun sign is an integral part of it as it governs a substantial amount of one’s personality. In this article, I’ll also relay some of my personal experiences with the many wonderful Pisces people I have personally known.
Examining The Birth Chart
Although this zodiac sign is largely considered the most spiritually advanced, there is still an entire birth chart to evaluate. And, of course, people can present very differently despite being born under the same star sign owing to factors including freewill choices, upbringing, education, and genetics.
Jesus Christ, one of the most spiritual people in history, was born under the sign of Pisces with a humanitarian Aquarius Moon and a steadfast, down-to-earth Capricorn Ascendant. However you may perceive him, his numerous good deeds have been widely reported and many people to this day still pray to him, and follow his guidance.
Two thousand years on from his birth, many still view him as a shining example of compassion, tolerance, and kindness. All of these personality traits are very strongly associated with this sign. He was so strongly associated with his star sign that the symbol for Christianity remains a fish to this day. It’s hard to say whether he was an empath or not as to my knowledge, that hasn’t been documented, however, being so spiritually evolved, pure of heart, and spiritually open, I think it’s very likely that he was.
The Higher Expression of Pisces
If someone with a Pisces Sun sign normally expresses the higher traits associated with Pisces, they will be intuitive, compassionate, emotional, spiritual, creative, and rather selfless. Individuals embodying this elevated aspect of the sign tend to exude deep empathy and sensitivity toward others. They’re usually ready and willing to offer their support during times of emotional upheaval. They’re also willing and ready to forgive.
Many of these people are spiritual and feel drawn to explore the depths of their intuition and the mysteries of existence. Creative talents really flourish in those with a higher Piscean expression, as they draw upon their vivid imagination and dreamy nature to produce amazing art, music, or literature. Selflessness and a willingness to prioritize the well-being of others are key traits, and their adaptability allows them to gracefully navigate life’s changes.
Pisceans also often impress and inspire people with their innate wisdom. They often trust their advanced inner guidance for decision-making, and may have a natural talent for healing and providing solace to those in need, reflecting the multifaceted and empathetic qualities of their sign.
An old close friend had this Sun sign in combination with a Virgo Moon sign and a Scorpio Ascendant. She was exceptionally kind, introspective, intuitive, and a self-diagnosed empath. And it showed because she was so attuned to the feelings of others that she could articulate what they were feeling better than they could themselves sometimes!
Recently, I experienced a couple of female neighbours who were at war with each other. One was a Virgo and the other was a Pisces. The Virgo woman was stuck in a difficult situation with an unpleasant husband. Although she was widely known to be difficult and a bit anti-social, it’s clear that the Pisces woman empathized with her poor domestic situation and didn’t wish her ill. Other Sun signs may not be so understanding considering how poorly the Virgo woman and her husband treated her over the years. I think that most astrologers would agree that spiritually evolved Pisceans in particular don’t wish to cause others harm even in very challenging situations, and can understand their struggles.
An Empath has a Spiritually Evolved Soul
A person who is born under any of the twelve Sun signs may be an empath. Even those whose horoscopes contain a small amount of the water element can be empaths because the other elements (fire, earth, and air) can also influence the emergence of this ability.
An empath is someone whose Soul has experienced many previous lifetimes on Earth. They have attained the ability of reading others well and can know their true intentions but also absorb their feelings like a sponge and experience them exactly as if they are their own.
Remember That Time Alone to Recharge is OK
It’s vital, however, that they take precautions to protect their own energy to avoid becoming overloaded with the emotions of others. Since they absorb the energies of other people, atmospheres and places, they may shy away from too much social interaction and instead choose quiet, calm places to spend their time such as in coffee shops, book shops, and in nature. If this is you, please remember that this is OK! We all recharge differently and Pisces people in particular need plenty of time alone to fully relax, and to process and shed the energies they’ve unconsciously collected.
How to Protect Your Personal Energy
No matter what your birth chart may look like, if you suspect you’re an empath, you might want to learn how to effectively protect your energy. Doing so can mean being less susceptible to absorbing unwanted energies that can emotionally bog you down and physically drain you.
