Pisces in the 2nd House: Money, Magic and Meaning

Perhaps you’ve noticed how these people wish for something new, like a job, and then shortly after, it just appears — and sometimes via very unlikely or interesting means! We’re all powerful manifestors as extensions of Source energy, but these individuals are oftentimes exceptionally good and quick at manifesting their desires thanks to their particularly powerful imaginations.

I have a close friend with this placement. She runs an environmentally friendly makeup business which, at present, is doing incredibly well. She’s very imaginative and visualizes in real time what she wants to happen in her life. She avoids thinking about what she doesn’t want to happen. The usual, yet extraordinary, result is that her visualizations often become reality. For example, every night for a couple of months, she pictured her products being stocked by a particular store and it eventually happened — and she didn’t even have to do a thing because they contacted her!

Many of the creative or spiritual ideas these individuals incorporate into their work may be channelled from other realms of existence — and they may not even know it. This is what makes them excellent spiritual figures and intuitives like clairvoyants, mediums, tarot readers and so on. And indeed, many people with this placement very in spiritual or New Age fields.

Careers in healthcare, holistic health, psychotherapy, the arts or charities may also deeply resonate with them. Regardless of their chosen profession, their approach to work is often colored by a deep sense of purpose and a desire to help and heal others and make a positive difference in the world. Even any investments they make are geared towards helping others or the planet as well as themselves.

Money is more of a means to an end for them rather than something they deeply desire to have so they can show off or live an extravagant lifestyle. These people are among the least likely to get sucked in by materialism, although from a spiritual perspective, materialism is just another facet of the human experience.

Physical Belongings

These individuals feel an emotional connection of some sort to virtually everything they own. Some of their things tell stories, reflecting the ebb and flow of their lives. From from a treasured assortment of familial keepsakes, to a fascinating collection of artwork or a library brimming with well-thumbed books that have shaped their world view, they adore the things they own and they want their most treasured pieces to stay with them until death.

Their homes reflect their highly imaginative and compassionate natures with spaces designed for meditation, creative projects like painting or gatherings for parties, poetry and book club meetings and so on.

They may also own items that serve as reminders of their dreams (which are frequently vivid and emotional), aspirations or spiritual beliefs. For instance, a vision board, a collection of unique crystals, rocks, shells or fossils, a worn but beloved tarot deck, or a diary filled with heart-felt entries, to name a few. My cousin, who I mentioned earlier, has been using vision boards since she was little and they sure as heck helped her manifest her dream life over the years!

Concerning larger assets, these people go for investments that align with their ethical and spiritual beliefs. They might be drawn to socially responsible investing like recycling projects, or seek out properties in tranquil, nature-rich settings that provide sanctuary from the chaos of city life.

Stability and Security

Having enough stability and security helps these people navigate life in a more definite, grounded way. You see, stability for these individuals may not include the traditional sense of the word. It may not always translate to routines, schedules, or structures, but rather, emotional and spiritual equilibrium. They find consistency and grounding in their spiritual practices and their creative processes rather than having a huge amount in their savings account and a predictable daily routine.

While they’re under no illusions about the need for economic security, they deeply value emotional and spiritual security. Their intuitive and empathetic nature makes them receptive to the energies around them so they strive to create a safe environment at home and at work that allows them to be themselves, and do the things they want to do, unimpeded by anything or anyone. That, for them, is true security.

Unless there’s a lot of earth or fire in the chart, they may need to work quite a bit on their practical skills in financial management. They feel that they should always act in an ethical manner. They believe in karma and understand that it’s important for them to do right by others — not only for others but also for themselves. Luckily, being good and decent and isn’t difficult for many of these people — they feel compelled to be those things and more. They don’t have to force or fake it.

Skills and Talents

Many of the skills and talents they possess have an emotional or spiritual dimension to them. Pisces is known for its sensitivity, compassion, creativity and powerful imagination. This makes those with this sign on the cusp of the 2nd skilled at understanding and helping others, as well as dreaming up amazing goals and projects. But as I’ve mentioned before, they can be a bit too dreamy and idealistic, so they should always make sure their goals are actually achievable. As long as they are, they can achieve a great, great deal with their brilliant imaginations.

Their innate ability to understand human emotion makes them natural healers, be it in a formal setting as a doctor or nurse or as an energy healer of some kind. Or perhaps just in their day to day lives as caring friends, stay at home parents, grandparents and so on.

They’re also highly skilled in the arts. Be it as a musician, singer, lyricist, ballet dancer, writer, graphic designer or whatever artistic field they choose to work in, they are likely to produce intricate, soulful work that touches and inspires others in some way.

Dominant Element

Air Dominant

These individuals are both thought-provoking and deeply intuitive. Earlier, I mentioned my friend who runs a cosmetics business. Her birth chart is air dominant, mainly owing to the large amount of Aquarius and Libra energy in it. She seamlessly blends logic, emotion and intuition to create fabulous, environmentally friendly products. She also provides a warm and welcoming work environment for all of her staff.

This combination lends an agile mind, a curious spirit and a dynamic outlook. They are thinkers, communicators, and seekers of wisdom and knowledge. And Pisces, sitting on the cusp of this house, injects emotional depth, creativity, and spiritual awareness to their ever expanding intellectual core. It’s a truly blessed combination of energies in my opinion.

These natives are also talented communicators. They easily articulate their thoughts, visions, dreams, and feelings remarkably well and oftentimes with great speed! They easily and gracefully bridge the gap between emotional and the intellectual worlds which is particularly useful at work, no matter what field they work in. 

When it comes to investments, they might look to more cerebral opportunities that also have some kind of spiritual or ethical angle to them. Whatever investment or career they choose, they must view as both ethical and interesting otherwise it will only be a matter of time before they drop it.

Water Dominant

Water energy provides these people with a strong ability to empathize with others, and they are naturally intrigued by, and drawn to, spiritual matters. When mixed with Pisces, these traits become amplified so these individuals are highly in tune with both their own feelings and spirituality, as well as those of others.

More and more, as we continue to enter into the Age of Aquarius, we are seeing alternative therapies becoming more widespread and accepted. So, in the coming years and decades, more people, especially young people, will feel more able to pursue alternative healing careers without the judgement and prejudice that was attached to them in previous times. 

Water signs, especially Scorpio, will want to analyze a new job, course, investment or project from every angle before taking the leap. The only danger is that decisions are too slowly made. Sometimes this also means that opportunities get missed as a result due to over-thinking and over-analyzing. They would do well, at least in my opinion, to make an analysis of the pros and cons of any potential financial move and then go for it to avoid becoming paralysed by too much thinking and losing out.

In terms of material possessions large and small, water types feel a deep emotional attachment to the things they love dearly. They’ll guard them and keep them close by. They’re very unlikely to share how they really feel or what they really think about anything they are especially moved by because their self protection is very powerful and they won’t want to risk being ridiculed for it. Generally, they dislike unemotional folk and steer clear of them — rightly so, too.
