The Part of Fortune is a mathematical point in the birth chart. It indicates what is likely to bring someone a great deal of joy and prosperity. We grow into this placement; both the house and the sign. So those with Part of Fortune in this house may not find success in a creative area like music creation or dance when young necessarily but could very well do in adulthood!

If the Part of Fortune is well aspected, success and joy around the themes of the 5th house may flow effortlessly into the native’s life. If it has some negative aspects, there may be some delays or challenges associated with it, however, this bit of the chart is known to focus solely on themes like joy, abundance and success rather than anything negative.

Sadly, this astrological point isn’t widely discussed. I’m unaware of any printed books dedicated solely to its exploration. This could be because it’s an Arabic part, so it isn’t widely discussed by, or taught to, budding astrologers. And that’s a shame because it has so much interesting and useful information to offer!

Success Through Love Affairs or Marriage

Long-term relationships and marriage tends to be fortuitous. Their partner could be creative and they may both work in creative fields or simply share similar creative passions. If their partner is wealthy, no doubt they will also benefit from their wealth to some degree. Their lives could become a great deal easier, more enjoyable, and slower paced with someone who can easily pay the mortgage and bills every month!

Their partner could be very emotionally supportive and help them to achieve their goals and pursue the creative endeavours that make their heart sing. Before they met them, they might not have naturally had much self belief but their partner may have encouraged them to try harder and manifest beautiful artwork, music, writing, or whatever else they had desired to pursue earlier in life.

Of course, they don’t need to be married to find success and happiness! Plenty of people these days don’t really fancy the idea of marriage. They might have relationships that are fun yet short-lived or simply live together as a couple without the marriage certificate. Not everyone with this placement will want serious, longterm commitment. Prosperity can still come from a lover or partner if they are eager to help them in some way. This placement also suggests good business sense and self generated prosperity. But they may very well receive some external help. But, as we age we change and so later in on life, perhaps from their late twenties onwards, they finally found success in some kind of creative career. Perhaps they even decide to go back to school to study a creative subject.

Perhaps a creative hobby began to generate some level of income. They then decided to increase that income in order to turn it into a full-time job. A friend of mine with this placement used to make pottery. Someone encouraged her to set up a stall at an arts and crafts fair some years ago and her works sold out.

Now she sells her creations through social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. She hasn’t quit her day job just yet as she doesn’t make a fortune from it but it is a healthy secondary income! And she enjoys knowing that people appreciate her work enough to buy it. She especially likes the idea of it sitting around in other people’s homes across the world. And who knows where her creations may end up! It’s exciting to contemplate that.

Success Through Children

This placement also suggests an increase in joy and prosperity through generous and dynamic children. One or more of their children could have a Leo Sun, Moon, or Rising Sign, or embody Leonine traits and characteristics. They may be especially determined and successful people and enjoy spending quality time with their family, having fun with them, and generously share their resources with them.

As a side note, my mother has this this placement and I have a Leo Sun sign. I contribute to the household income and maintain the family home. I also enjoy spending lots of time with her and we often have fun by playing board games, painting, and taking trips to the English countryside together. I hope that I have enriched her life rather than anything else!

To use another example, my aunt has a close friend with this placement and her daughter writes books for children for a living. She enjoys spending time with her elderly parents, and she takes care of them by shopping for them, and covering virtually all of their expenses, including their vacations to beautiful places abroad.
