Personal Wealth
There’s a strong healing element to the work these people carry out. Because of this, they often make effective medical professionals and alternative therapists like hypnotherapists. An income may also be obtained through mystical healing work like past life healing or mediumship (which helps the living to heal by connecting them with their loved ones in Spirit).
Since this is the sign of the detective, forensic, detective or police work is often undertaken. Or some other form of work that allows them delve to the very bottom of mysteries and manage challenging or emotional situations.
Since Scorpio rules the genitals, it should be mentioned that their work could alternatively be of a sexual nature. Domination in particular could be of interest to them.
Similarly to those with Aries in the 2nd, these natives enjoy working without constraints. They don’t deal with being controlled very well! They need to be free and in complete control of their lives. They work exceptionally hard to become financially independent and thoroughly enjoy their lives on their own terms. Owing to the highly enigmatic nature of Scorpio, they can be remarkably secretive about what they do for a living. I have Cancer in the 2nd house — another hush, hush water sign — and I’m fairly quiet about being an astrologer because it’s unorthodox and some people can be very critical about it.
But I know someone with this placement who is so private about his job that I have absolutely no idea what he does. “Something online” is his usual response whenever I ask him, which isn’t often. This could, of course, mean pretty much anything.
I think most people find this level of secrecy a bit odd unless they have strong Scorpio placements themselves, in which case, they’re more likely to understand. If they are private about what they do, it’s probably best to not poke them about it too much — they won’t be happy about being pushed.
Physical Belongings
Scorpio in this house means a very potent attachment to objects that are laden with sentimental value. Family heirlooms, gifts from beloved friends and family, and objects that hold meaning for other reasons are absolutely cherished — frequently until death. Considering this strong emotional attachment, hoarding is a possibility but the risk is usually higher in older people who have had a lifetime of collecting all kinds of lovely things.

This could be down to them not trusting others not to steal or break them or they may worry that others may become jealous and give them the ‘evil eye’.

Becoming financially secure helps them to feel safe in the world. They know that money equals power. It provides anyone who has it with the ability to live and work as they see fit.
At work, they often prefer to be in charge. Oftentimes, they make strong, determined, self-assured, supportive, and protective leaders — but they must be obeyed. They can feel awfully aggrieved when others don’t take them seriously or follow their instructions.
Some may project their need for power and authority onto their colleagues or employees. It would be a good move to guard against this sort of behavior because it won’t be appreciated and they may eventually become unpopular.

This isn’t to say that their self belief is unshakable but that they are at least aware of their own worth and often hold themselves in high esteem. They don’t allow others to mistreat them and they don’t pay much attention to gossip or negative commentary. Loyalty, honesty and authenticity are all highly valued here. They normally posses all of these qualities themselves but if not, they really appreciate seeing them in others and strive to acquire them.

Earth Dominant
