Natal Moon in Cancer: Home Is Where the Heart Is
It’s true that Cancer energy is sensitive with changeable moods but I also find it extraordinarily creative, entrepreneurial, shrewd and fabulously loyal. The ruling plant of Cancer is the Moon so its influence is especially strong here.
Upbringing
There seem to be two very different types of mother for those with the natal Moon in Cancer. One type is kind, nurturing and compassionate; the quintessential good-hearted, devoted mother. The type that relishes every moment with her child, is protective and tends to their every need. She nurtured her creativity and intellect and gave every ounce of herself to raising her child well. The other type is capricious and withdrawn. And yet, the bond between parent and child was probably strong.
Whatever their relationship was like, the family home was a secure and comfortable place. Money, in all likelihood, wasn’t too scarce. If things were a little tight, they still made sure their child had all they needed. General Characteristics
Lunar Cancerians are arguably more sensitive and emotional than Cancer Sun or Rising natives. This is because the Moon is the planet which governs emotion so when feelings run through the filter of sensitive Cancer, they become amplified. As such, these natives may struggle with being too sensitive although this depends on how the Moon is aspected and what the rest of the chart looks like.

So, although they often are inclined to help people as much as possible, they should make a continuous effort to conserving their own emotional energy. There’s nothing wrong with saying “no” to anything in their personal or professional life, especially when they’re not obligated to comply.
The self-protection associated with this placement rivals that of Scorpio. If they don’t like something or someone, it’ll be very apparent, either through an icy silence or some sort of passive behavior. They’re additionally very protective of those they love and injustice really makes their toes curl.
This can be troubling and tiring especially if they are unaware of what’s happening. It may be possible to control this ability with the right energy healing so they retain their wonderful sensitivity but it isn’t in overdrive. Whatever the cause, they must learn to say “no”or withdraw when appropriate to preserve and protect their energy. Proper and regular self-care and self-love is also a must.
Home Environment
Their home is of the greatest importance to them. It must be a comfortable, safe and secure feeling place they genuinely enjoy spending time in. As such, these people often love spending hours in stores or online looking for the perfect items to create their ideal living spaces. In all likelihood, theirs feels especially cozy with plush materials throughout and perhaps old-fashioned furniture, artwork and decor as they have a penchant for history and antiques.

Ideally, their home will be located near water, so either near the sea or close to a lake or another body of water. Cancer is a water sign and water recharges and invigorates this sign. Being busy and business oriented, they might not be able to live exactly where they would like but wherever they settle, the area will be safe and reasonably quiet and still. They need this.
As I touched on earlier, these natives are especially sensitive to other people’s energies so they’re unlikely to invite guests who aren’t good natured. It would be best for them, in my opinion, to get to know people quite well before allowing them to enter their cherished, private spaces.
Work Style
Those who know them well will say their work ethic is second to none and their driving force is providing a good life for his family, to whom he is devoted. They appear to have a natural knack for striking it lucky at work but this luck is in fact, their powerful intuition which helps them feel out brilliant business decisions. Cancerian energy often makes talented entrepreneurs with an eye on improving things for humanity. Richard Branson is a Cancerian. Aside from being very successful himself, he frequently helps young, budding entrepreneurs grow their own businesses.
Normally brimming with terrifically creative and inspired ideas, they know intuitively how to bring them into reality. Team work is something that ignites their passion and unlike some of the other signs, they are very happy to do. With an overabundance of interests, any spare time is usually filled by doing something interesting. I wouldn’t want to limit what this lunar type is into by firing off a brief list because their imagination knows no bounds. And being multi-talented, they’re capable of doing a great many things.
Cancer is one of the most creative zodiac signs and these people tend to feel great internal joy and satisfaction when creating all sort of things. However, I will say that they could be especially interested in is the past. Like those who have their Moon in Taurus, this placement tends to attract life-long friendships. That may not initially be the intention of the new friend that’s what often happens when both people really get on well. Unless there are other factors in the birth chart that mitigate this tendency, they’ll be a loyal and throughly decent friend until the end. Their friends can probably also count on them to be there for them come hell of high water to help with with virtually anything they need. And they’ll protect them too; their wellbeing, their reputation, even their livelihoods if they’re able to.
Their memory is excellent and they remember every kind word and deed and always strive to return positive actions. Kindness deeply touches them and makes them feel content and secure.
