Part of Fortune in 11th House: The Wealth of Friendship and Vision

The Part of Fortune illuminates your path to true fulfilment, joy and material wealth through 11th house themes which are mainly friendships, networks, technology, mysticism and humanitarian work.

More About The Part of Fortune in Astrology

If you already know what this part of the birth chart indicates, feel free to skip this bit.

The Part of Fortune isn’t a physical celestial body. It’s a mathematical point in the birth chart. The formula for calculating it involves the Ascendant, Sun and Moon. So, in order to accurately calculate it, the exact time of birth needs to be known. This part of the chart is one of the most, if not the most, positive in my opinion. Exploring the nuances of the Part of Fortune in birth charts is a source of inspiration and fascination for me. It brings me joy to write about what brings others joy!

If you have anything you would like to add to the interpretation of this placement, just leave your thoughts in the comment box below. I update my articles often to incorporate new perspectives so I might include your ideas in my next update.

Success Through Friendship

These individuals easily forge new friendships with genuinely good natured people. Their friendships are hugely enjoyable and mentally stimulating and have the added benefit of bringing them good fortune from time to time. For example, they could introduce them to friends in high places who offer them a nice job, or they could invest in a lucrative new venture of theirs.

My cousin has this placement and he is forever meeting new people and making new friends. He has a very, very wide social circle. He takes great pleasure in connecting people, mainly through the vibrant dinner parties he frequently hosts.

Their friends may also connect them to people who can help them with their physical health or inner well-being. For instance, my cousin introduced a friend of his who was had insomnia to another friend who is an otolaryngologist. This doctor put him in touch with a somnologist who helped him to start sleeping well again.

These individuals are also some of the first people to celebrate the achievements of their friends. They love seeing people make good progress in life. In turn, they also often receive plenty of support from their friends, including emotional support. They often feel more comfortable giving rather than receiving. Some of them might even find it uncomfortable to be on the receiving end of too much attention or affection!

Groups of People and Networking

Networking is very much their strong suit and as well as being successful with making and keeping friends, these individuals also tend to do exceptionally well in groups. The cousin I previously mentioned is a huge fan of groups. A lot of the friends he has now he met through the Meet Up website in the early 00s. Some of the connections he made in the meet-ups he attended also proved to be fortuitous. The most serendipitous of them all was the acquaintance who facilitated an interview for him at the University where he currently — and happily — works as a lecturer. That meeting really did change his life!

While these natives may have struggled with being accepted by various groups when they were young, they may have developed a liking for them as adults. Starting groups of their own could also bring them a lot of joy and mental stimulation. They could also see some financial gain from them. For instance, they might find it fun to start a group or club centred around a hobby like star gazing. Not only would this be lots of fun but they could even explore entrepreneurial avenues by offering star-gazing equipment to their members for instance. Or maybe they just meet someone they get on with really well in their group and go on to start a business with them.

Innovation and Creativity

Seeing humanity progress in a positive direction is very important for these people. They enjoy facilitating change where they can, in however large or small a contribution. Be it signing petitions for things they feel strongly about to attending protests or advocating for change as a professional, for instance as a doctor or lawyer.

Through their strong desire to make things better on Earth for everyone, these people channel their passion into impactful initiatives. Be it through the creation of innovative products or services, or establishing socially conscious businesses, their efforts are geared towards making a tangible difference for humanity.

Seeing humanity progress in a spiritual, heart-lead direction also interests many of them. This passion often leads them to study esoteric subjects like New Age spirituality, astrology, numerology and divination. By immersing themselves in these subjects, they gain not only personal enlightenment but also a deeper understanding of spiritual principles that can contribute to the collective advancement of humanity.

Defining Aspirations

When these individuals were growing up, they may have looked at their fellow classmates and wondered why they couldn’t focus as well as them. It might have also bothered them that they couldn’t pick a career in their late teens. But they really shouldn’t have beaten themselves up about it. In my opinion, being told by your teachers and parents to pick a career you’d like to spend the rest of your life at sixteen, is ludicrous. It can take time for many people to decide what they want to do. Some people can’t decide on a career until they’re well into their twenties. Many of the people I went to art college with now work in very different fields including medicine and finance!

As I mentioned earlier in this article, this is a point in the birth chart that we grow into. So, while they might have struggled to define their goals and ambitions in their youth, as adults, they may do so with ease and grace. They also tend to consistently reach their goals, especially when they are helped by others, including groups of people.

Humanitarian Efforts

For some of these people, their greatest joy in life comes from helping groups of people in some capacity. A longtime friend of mine envisaged taking care of orphans from her teen years, which is pretty selfless for someone around that age! After graduating, she moved abroad to teach in an orphanage. Upon returning home after almost a decade of teaching, she brought two adopted children with her. She created a wonderful little family with them.

Future Oriented

Many of these people feel emotional about the future of our planet and species. They can envisage the future and seek to bring it closer. A couple of ways they might go about this is by becoming engineers and creating futuristic gadgets or helping to advance AI. A lot of people with a lot of 11th house energy or Aquarius in their charts are interested in the future. My Moon sign is Aquarius and I frequently tear up when watching Star Trek because I love the idea of living in that sort of reality!

It really does warm their hearts to see humanity progress technologically and become more cooperative, diplomatic and tolerant, as often depicted in sci-fi movies, books, and so on.

Education and Continuous Learning

As I mentioned previously, I have a cousin with this placement who is a lecturer, but as much as these people enjoy sharing their knowledge, they also relish learning new things. Their minds are thirsty for new information all the time. In truth, their learning journey never ceases. They’re a curious bunch and usually eager to learn more about anything that interests them or expand their existing knowledge of a subject.

Unconventional Career Paths

Their career choices often diverge into unique and interesting paths. Many of them, being open-minded and tolerant, may do well in alternative fields. These include herbal medicine, charity work, international aid, social media strategy, human rights advocacy, energy healing, mediumship or even astrology! I personally know two professional astrologers with this placement, three psychics, a medium and two professional Reiki healers. So spiritual paths are indeed well-suited to this placement!
