Even if Cancer — a prudent and conservative sign — is rising, these natives still often spend more than they have. My Godmother has this placement. Despite having a Virgo Sun and a Capricorn Moon sign (one of the most conservative Sun-Moon combinations possible!), she lives for the day and often splashes out on holidays, extravagant gifts, expensive cosmetics and jewellery, and spa days. When her business was doing well, this this lifestyle was her norm. I admired it a great deal with I would also frequently baulk at the sheer expense of it all.

Minimising expenses for celebrations, especially birthdays, graduations and engagements is not at all their style. They go all out and to heck with sticking to a boring budget! They need to gift everyone with an absolutely beautiful time they will remember and cherish.

That said, they do intuitively know when it’s time to let go of old things to allow new things to come into their lives. As such, they might frequently give away stuff they no longer want or need. But the things that are closest to their hearts stay with them throughout their lives.

Security and Stability

Having enough money to live a fun and care-free kind of lifestyle is what makes them feel truly secure. They need to be able to afford an easy life filled with good times and at least some luxury every now and again.

Having a job that allows them to express themselves helps them to feel seen and counted. As I mentioned before, they would ideally like to run their own show by becoming an entrepreneur. If that isn’t possible, the minimum they would require from a job is a healthy amount of attention and recognition of their value from colleagues and bosses alike.

Unless there are other factors in the birth chart to offset this, they have a deep appreciation for their intrinsic self worth. I’m not sure if, so far, I have done these natives justice. I should really emphasize that there’s absolutely more to these people than having fun and making money! For example, they could work as a assistant during the day but they would be delighted to learn that they are also talented at making beautiful ceramics in their spare time.

While they may not have a career that is creative, they could have a creative side-hustle and/or creative hobbies. For example, they could paint incredible, bright, busy murals on weekends but by day, they work at a hedge fund managing other people’s money.

While they are naturally confident and direct at work, they are naturally capable of diplomacy. As such, they are skilled at reuniting warring colleagues and clients, usually with humor and light-heartedness. They intuit what to say and do to bring everyone round and call a truce.
