Capricorn in 5th House: Structured Passion, Lasting Creation

Creativity

Governed by Saturn, a planet synonymous with restraint and prudence, Capricorn isn’t typically linked to happy go lucky creativity. No, rather, it’s known for its strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the classical arts. These natives adore classical ballet, opera, painting, and literature. Some people with this placing even opt to pursue careers in the classical arts.

Their creativity tends to be structured. The idea of just making something on a whim, like a video or sculpture without a plan or an end-goal doesn’t make sense to them. They don’t view aimlessly making something as a good use of their time or energy. That being said, if they’re creating something with a specific goal in mind and they have a plan in place, they’ll happily proceed with it because what they’re doing has a solid purpose.

Projects that have long-term success potential are especially interesting to them like writing a book or redecorating their home in a style suitable for the next few years at least.

Self-Expression

With Virgo in the first house, aka Virgo rising, they may find personal expression a little challenging as both signs are known for being shy and reserved.

Romance and Relationships

These individuals tend to be reserved, business-like and cautious when dating and in the early days. Their standards are high and many will only consider a longterm relationship with someone who is ambitious, professional, and serious about their work and life goals.

Dating purely for fun or for the sake of it doesn’t feel quite right. The institution of marriage is highly valued by these people so they look for someone who they can build a long-lasting and mutually supportive union with. Their ultimate goal is usually marriage, combined incomes, and the most beautiful home they can afford with the eventual addition of children to continue their legacy.

Once in a committed relationship with established boundaries and a plan in place, they’ll be reliable and practical partner. Although until then their partner may not see their true self because they’re reluctant to allow themselves to fall head over heels too early on. But when their comfortable enough, they’re delightfully surprised by how romantic and dedicated they can be at times.

They may be a bit pessimistic about romance and frequently find themselves comparing their romantic progress with that of other partners. This tendency is lessened for those with a significant amount of fire on the birth chart, for example, a Leo Sun-sign and a Sagittarius Moon-sign. If Venus alone is in a fire sign (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), this may significantly alter they way they approach love.

With this placement, too much time can be spent on working and climbing the career ladder. They feel they must achieve a certain level of success before they’re ready for longterm commitment and the sharing of their resources. They especially desire to become successful so they can build a life with someone who is also successful.

They may worry about people taking them seriously enough for marriage if they fail to real a certain level of income by a certain age. This fear is largely unfounded. In my opinion, people today aren’t as judgemental as they were in previous times. I think that we understand as a society that most people have so much more to offer each other than their monthly salary!

Of course, when attempting to evaluate what someone may be like in love, it’s vital to look at Venus and Mars on the birth chart. Throughout the history of astrology, these planets have consistently held a great deal of meaning. A lot more insight can be obtained by studying them. So, yeah, I’d look at them, and of course, the 7th house of marriage and partnerships.

Children and Parenthood

Their children, if they have any, may be quite conventional with a penchant for tradition. They may have been educated exceptionally well and as a result, are very knowledgable. They may decide from a young age to become very successful when they grow up and work towards that by being business-like, organized and hard-working. From their twenties onward, a significant amount of emphasis is placed on establishing a stable home life of their own.

The sort of careers they tend to gravitate towards include medicine, law, finance and accounting, and business. Reaching the top of their field is likely to be of great importance to them as is achieving the highest salary they can. Becoming a successful and well-known entrepreneur also appeals to them.

They can be really hard on themselves if they feel like they’re failing to achieve their goals in life, especially their career goals. However, in reality, they often do remarkably well in comparison to others. They also take their domestic responsibilities extremely seriously even if they don’t always perceive them as real work.

A bit too much could be expected of their children with a lot of pressure being placed on their education. Coddling their children could make them feel controlled instead of cared for. They could be perceived a “helicopter parent” by those around them. Loosening up and allowing their kids to find their own way in life including making, and learning from, their own mistakes might work wonders for their overall development.

Recreation and Entertainment

These people can find it hard to let go, relax and enjoy themselves without thinking about work or feeling guilty about neglecting it. Going on an expensive vacation for a prolonged period of time may not sound too appealing to them. They’d do well to save more time for relaxation and entertainment; work is important but so is recreation and spending meaningful time with loved ones.

When they do allow themselves to take time off, they enjoy visiting beautiful and educational places like museums and art galleries. Additionally, the great outdoors soothes and inspires them.

Venturing Into the Unknown

Capricorn isn’t exactly known for impulsivity and recklessness. No, it’s known for its wariness and cool, calculated thinking. So when this sign is found on the cusp of the 5th, venturing into the unknown by taking risks, they will, firstly, be few and far between and to some degree, still calculated!
