Pisces in 5th House: Romance, Art, and Enchantment

Creativity

Pisces finds tremendous joy and fulfilment in creative pursuits. If creativity is lacking, this house may have some difficult aspects or there may be other factors in the birth chart hindering their creative potential.

I’ve personally observed numerous people who lot of people with this placement who channel a lot of emotion into their creative work, making it very powerful. Their work may move others emotionally. I went to art school with a lot of Pisceans and a couple with Pisces in the 5th, and I noticed that all of them produced highly imaginative work that made you feel something. Whether that was positive, negative, or somewhere in between, it made you feel one way or another.

I remember one of them produced a children’s story book with the most wonderfully whimsical pastel colored illustrations. She wrote the story too. It was a sweet little story about the lifelong friendship between two ginger cats. The whole class was drawn in by it and found it heart warming and charming.

Self-Expression

Pisces is shown as two fish swimming in opposite directions, and I think this can be interpreted in many, many different ways. In my opinion, it shows that this sign can alter its behavior. It isn’t necessarily this or that. It’s this and that. After all, being the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces has a little bit of every sign within it. So, these people may choose to act one way in one situation, and another, remarkably different way in another situation.

Romance and Relationships

These people make affectionate, tactile, and attentive partners. Their default setting is die-hard romantic. They genuinely care about their partner and intuitively pick up on their thoughts and feelings, and vice versa. I think this is because they naturally match each other’s vibration (they’re good at matching with someone on the same wave-length as them, basically).

When dating, and in romantic connections, their feelings may be easily hurt, and letting go and forgiving may not always come easily, especially if their person doesn’t offer a sincere apology. Forgiving their partner, especially if they really like or love them, can come easily with the right apology. Although this shouldn’t go on and on. They must make sure that their significant other is actually genuinely sorry for what they said or did (or didn’t do!) and makes an effort to be considerate and supportive going forward.

Too much may be expected in love. They may very beautiful and romantic notions of what being in a relationship entails, especially in their youth. Of course, for many of us this is true, myself included, but I imagine that most of us grow out of it (or it’s squeezed out of us eventually after having one too many disappointing dates and relationships).

If they don’t find what they’re looking for, they can become disillusioned or possibly even jaded. Being more realistic about what to expect from a partner, and looking at what they also bring to the table, should help them to avoid that.

Children and Parenthood

I think these people make wonderful parents. There tends to be a good bit of focus on encouraging their children to be creative. While others may choose to gently push them in the direction of being realistic and pragmatic, they allow their kids to thoroughly explore their imaginations.

So, for instance, if they have an imaginary friend (typically someone who is in between the Earth plane and Spirit), playing with them may be encouraged. Or if they wish to play hide and seek constantly? Great! That will likely be encouraged just as much.

Their children may have Sun in Pisces or have a significant amount of Pisces energy in their chart. When they’re older, they may work in fields that associated with the sign, like music, art, design — or more orthodox Piscean fields like medicine and law enforcement.

A word of caution: in some cases, they can be a bit idealistic about family life. Perhaps they wanted to have a family from a young age but when it actually happened, they were surprised by what it actually entailed on a daily basis. Real life can be much less romantic than we imagined it would be in our younger years!

Recreation and Entertainment

Relaxing comes naturally for them. They seem to be naturally skilled at just chilling out and doing whatever they enjoy, be it pottering around their yard, baking, etc. Unless there are contra-indicators in their chart, they aren’t uptight.

Entertainment wise, they might especially enjoy anything to do with water — fishing, visiting an aquarium, swimming, reading by a lake, etc. Hobbies that allow them to lose themselves and forget their troubles for a while like gardening, sculpting, online gaming (including exploring virtual worlds like Second Life), also interest them.

A friend of mine with this placement said to me once that when she’s out jogging or cleaning her house, she switches off, and it’s as if she’s not herself, which feels great. I don’t have this placement but I can totally understand this! I love losing myself in writing astro articles. While I’m on here interpreting a placement or recording a video (especially about a transit or lunar phase), I feel as if I’m not myself and time flies by because I’m enjoying myself! I think when we immerse ourselves in the things we enjoy doing, our vibration lifts and that’s beneficial for us in so many different ways.

Speculation

Pisces isn’t the sort of sign one would immediately associate with risky ventures. This sign prefers what is familiar and comfortable, like Taurus and Cancer. But this is also the sign of the dreamer. If these people wish to fulfil a specific dream or just spend more time on their hobbies and interests, they may be tempted to take a punt to make their dreams come true.

This could mean investing money in the hope of a good return. If they feel completely stable, secure and content in life, it’s unlikely that they’ll take too many necessary risks.

Of course, a lot of things in life are risky anyway, whether we think of them as such or not. A friend who has this placement bought an apartment last year thinking that it would be a marvellous investment but ended up with incredibly noisy neighbours and a kitchen ceiling that never stops leaking! But without rolling the dice every now and again, we’d never make any progress in life. We’re all in the same boat in that respect. Such is life!
