Leo in 6th House: Leadership Through Work and Service

Those with the sign of Leo on the cusp of the 6th have an especially vibrant, energetic and dynamic attitude towards their work and other areas of life ruled by this house. The sign of Pisces is usually located on the cusp of the 1st with Leo here. Both Pisces and Leo are emotionally sensitive signs which can also be sweet-natured, loyal and loving. Leo is more dominant and assertive than Pisces but both signs are shrewd, generous and exceptionally creative.

Work and Employment

Those with this placing would much rather be in charge at work. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t enjoy being of service to others; it’s just that they would prefer to be from a position high up in the company they work for. If they feel under appreciated or disrespected at work no matter where they are in the hierarchy, they might become generally grumpy and may attempt to exert control wherever possible. This sort of behavior can come across as domineering or overbearing and push people away. Leadership, whether in their own business or someone else’s is normally preferred. Leading is, after all, where the sign of Leo shines brightest and can be seen, admired, respected and followed.

For many of these people, leadership is a given because they tend to be self-employed. Sometimes, this can be from a very young age. This is particularly likely if one or more of the fire signs (Leo, Aries, Sagittarius) is dominant in their birth chart or if the Sun, Moon or Mercury is in one or more of these signs in their chart. As an employer, they can be extremely gracious, generous, supportive and kind. They understand that their business is stronger and works better with happy staff members as opposed to staff who feel bored, unmotivated or like cogs in a faceless machine.

They are the kind of people who like to view the people they work with as their extended family. Camaraderie is important to them and typically, they can be very loyal and supportive with those whose company they enjoy at work. Whenever they start work at a new job, they normally look to make as many friends and quickly as possible. This is normally done with authenticity as they genuinely enjoy having positive relationships with others. Some of these people enjoy playfulness at work, making jokes, and having regular laughs. The friendships which form at work tend to last the test of time with some continuing on until the end of their lives.

If they are very confident and content in their work, they may occasionally enjoy boasting about it. A young relative of mine has this placement. His subtle way of letting everyone know how smart and successful he is, is by hanging up his various academic certificates in his bedroom, which he knows we will see when we visit him as his room is right next to the living room and he always keeps the door open… He rarely talks directly about his work but every now and again, he enjoys telling us about his latest car or property purchase, which clearly symbolizes how financially successful he is.

Service to Others and Responsibilities

These people shine in their service to others and when tending to their responsibilities. They can be very loyal, loving and kind towards the people and animals they care for. They also shine in the work that they do, providing that they genuinely enjoy it and make a good income from it.

Jobs in service based roles could be preferred if they really enjoy taking care of others in a professional capacity as well as a personal one.

Trivial Matters and Solving Problems

Small matters can irritate these individuals. Dealing with them could feel like a drag and a waste of time. They prefer to deal with small matters quickly and efficiently so they can get on with the things they think of as more important. They don’t possess too much patience for them and the same goes for problem solving, which they tend to take a very direct approach towards. The quickest way possible to solving any issues is the route they normally seek to take. If the issue they are attempting to resolve is with other people, their manner may be a bit abrupt and blunt but they just see it as the fastest way to get the job done. 

Daily Routine and Order

These individuals tend to plan out their days quite well so they can get the most out of them. They enjoy getting things done. They don’t like to spend too much time on one thing, though. Instead, they prefer getting things done sharpish so they can move onto the next thing. Making progress in life starts with having a good daily routine and at the end of a busy day, they feel satisfied and generally good about themselves. If their schedule is interfered with somehow, they could quickly begin to feel flustered or frustrated and stuck, even if they are just being side-tracked for a short period of time. 

As they see it, daily tasks are better when they are fun. Infusing them with creativity makes them so much more enjoyable and it makes the time fly by. They also enjoy it when others recognise and compliment them on their creativity. The goals they set for themselves tend to be ambitious and they normally pursue them with lots of vigour and determination.

Pets

There is a special place in the hearts of these people when it comes to animals. Leo, the sign of the lion, is renowned for its loyalty and its love. Those with Leo in this house may therefore feel like their pet is a part of their pride and take care of them as if they are. As a Leo Sun myself, I feel very much this way!

Their pet could be a show-animal like a show dog or show cat. If not, they might have a social media channel which showcases them. One of my friends has this placement in combination with Pisces Rising. She has two absolutely adorable Sphinx cats which she creates sweet and entertaining YouTube and TikTok videos with. She has tens of thousands of followers on each platform and actually makes a pretty good full-time income with her two channels!

Self Improvement and Wellbeing

Their approach to maintaining their well-being is typically creative but also a little OTT at times. For instance, they might feel the need to have a whole room in the house to themselves purely for meditation, or maybe they build a small spa in their home complete with sauna and jacuzzi. The friend I mentioned earlier with the cats is planning on buying a home with a large swimming pool so she can workout in it and shoot videos with her cats. And as a Leo myself, I don’t see that as remotely “extra”. I think it’s a fabulous idea and hopefully she’ll soon fulfil her wish but others might see it as a bit much.

You might notice that these individuals do very well with self-care. It’s something that they naturally prioritise because they know that if they aren’t feeling well, physically or emotionally, they won’t be able to get as much done and progress as quickly as they would like to in life. They also really want to maintain a good physical appearance by doing things like following a good skincare routine, working out and taking the time to pick out stylish outfits. Their personal image is very important to them and they like to present themselves well and be taken seriously by others.
