Strengths and Benefits

What a blessing it is when every one of your life goals aligns with your partner’s. How rare and how refreshing. Finally, your dream lover is here. Someone who can support you, and vice versa, in building your ideal life through thick and thin. For when the Sun — the ego — is situated in your partner’s 1st house of Self, many, many of your personal values are in almost perfect sync.

But the relationship itself is also a major life goal — for the both of you. For a long while you’ve both desired to meet someone who you click with and who shares your various ambitions and supports you chasing your dreams but one of your biggest dreams was to meet the love of your life. After all, isn’t life more fun when its a journey that is shared with an ideal mate? Of course it is! And here it is, with lashings of potential.

Of course, no relationship is prefect, but couples with this synastry aspect are certainly off to a good start. I mean, few people would get together with someone who doesn’t share the same desires for life or worse still, seems adverse to supporting their partner achieving their goals.

Ideas, perspectives and philosophies are also very similar in this union. Both parties feel as if they understand each other without having to say too much. They just seem to be on the same wavelength and therefore naturally have similar takes on things.

Possible Obstacles and Challenges

But rarely is any relationship all sunshine and rainbows. Every relationship, and every synastry aspect for that matter, has its ups and downs. Such is life. The Sun, associated with the fire sign Leo ego, and the 1st house, associated with the fire sign Aries and the individual Self, are both strong energies that are firmly rooted in ego and individuality. They are to be reckoned with when things go quite off-piste (read wonky). Both parties can become stubborn, butt heads, and hot tempers can flare causing intense and dramatic discussions and arguments.

Having said that, the thing that can bring both of you back together after many a disagreement is your shared take on life, your shared life goals and your normally strong approval of one another. For rare is it the case that we find someone who we gel with so effortlessly, especially without even having to talk and communicate a great deal.

While this union may feel naturally fitting from the outset, there is a danger of becoming too reliant on each other for many things if not everything from romance and friendship to financial support and business advice and everything in between. Remember that there is a whole world out there to experience and both of you can experience it together. You can make new friends, acquaintances and professional connections together. You might also do well to blend the friends you came into the relationship with so you can both enjoy their company.

It’s true that as we age, we lose the people around us; deaths, moves abroad, falling outs, and so on, can shrink our social circle significantly. But if we spend too much time with our partner or we rely too heavily on them to meet most or all of our needs, we can end up feeling a little alone, unsatisfied and perhaps even somewhat trapped and isolated. And if our partner leaves or dies, we can suddenly realize, much to our disappointment and heartbreak, just how much we leaned on them for our fulfillment. This can be a very rude awakening indeed.

My Personal Thoughts

I haven’t yet had a client with this synastry aspect but as my interpretations are based on my knowledge of astrology as well as intuition, I feel this is an overall positive aspect. Ultimately, all synastry aspects have their pros and cons but I sense this one has more pros than cons. We make our relationships what they are so it’s best to stay focused on what we have in common and what is working in our union as opposed to what is not working so much.

I probably don’t have to remind you but I’ll do it anyway; remember to look at all of the synastry aspects and crucially, the orb degree. The lower the degree, the more impactful the aspect is.

Sun in 1st House Composite – A Radiant, Enviable Relationship that Stands Out From the Crowd

The energy of a relationship with this aspect is described by the composite.

Since both the Sun and the 1st house in astrology are associated with individuality, originality, leadership, the relationship itself stands out of the crowd. There may be something very strong or alluring about it. Perhaps, for instance, both parties are exceptionally confident, good-looking, vibrant, intelligent, charismatic, resourceful or successful. Maybe they are both all of the above and more.

Considering the strong sense of leadership, maybe this relationship involves a business of some kind. Maybe a business is run together, or that’s the plan. Or maybe they both work for the same business, frequently leading their separate teams to new heights of success.

However this couple shines, it’s very likely their coupling attracts much attention and compliments from others. This is the sort of “power couple” that a lot of people admire and aspire to become a part of themselves. Both individuals are always seen as part of a couple rather than individuals in their own right as both of their identities are so strongly linked to their union.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Sun person lead in the relationship?

Not necessarily. Since the house involved is the 1st house, which is all about oneself and is linked to the leader sign of Aries, it’s unlikely. So while the Sun person might feel a little domineering at times since the Sun rules Leo, the boss of the zodiac and another leader sign, the house person can absolutely assert themselves and retain their personal autonomy and sovereignty.

Can such similar energies work well together in the long-run?

I think they can. I’m not too sure who came up with the saying “opposites attract” because if two people are too different, things may not work out in the longterm. I think that having common goals and a similar mindset and outlook on life is far more important if the relationship is to flourish and last the distance.

Does this aspect indicate a lasting attraction?

Perhaps at first what attracts these people to one another is their shared view of life, similar ambitious life goals, and how encouraging they are towards one another to go for their dreams. While there might be some head-butting and horn-locking along the way, this relationship seems like a strong one.
